There's the "I'm Celebrating!" button. Sometimes a CM will randomly give kids an "Honorary Citizen" button, but that one doesn't seem like one to ask for. There's also the birthday button. If you eat at a character meal, you usually get a button with that.
Ask at different shops as they seem to have different ones. DD got 1 with princesses on it, and if you eat at Ariel's you get 1 from there too!

In Cars Land, on the side of Ramone's next to Flo's and out front of Lizzy's Curios, there are little stands with CM's that ask you Disney Trivia questions. Easy, Med, Hard - you pick. if you get it right, you get one of several Cars buttons. VERY fun! I saw people with many!!
