    Grand Floridian room location

My parents will be going to the GF in November. They have not stayed there in many years. We are DVC members so we normally stay at the BCV. Is there a location that is better? Is there a difference in rooms? They are in their 70s, so they would prefer to be close to the main building. They don't really care about the pools.

    GF room location

I have read about this but can't remember the detail. I think though, that at the GF there are some separate buildings meaning not all rooms are easily attached to the lobby and restaurants. If I've remembered that right, and I'm sorry if I haven't, your parents want to be asking for a room attached to the main building. I'm sure someone here will have better details than my sketchy advice though!

Sago Cay building is closest to the main building which is the monorail access and also close to the bus stops. They can call and make the request and tell the Disney res agent who will put that information in the remarks. When they check in they can see what room was blocked and talk to the CM about their needs and they'll switch the rooms if there is something better for them.
