Fantasmic! Annual Passholder Glow with the Show Event Scheduled for August 28
As speculated in today's Disneyland Resort Update, we just got word that Disneyland will hold a special performance of Fantasmic! to introduce the Glow with the Show ears. The event is Tuesday August 28 from 10 pm to Midnight. Passholders can register for the event now at any Disneyland Ticket Booth. Passholders must be 18-years or older with photo ID and valid Annual Pass. Passholders may bring up to three Annual Passholder guests. Registration is open until August 23 or whenever the event fills up, whichever comes first.

Thanks! I'll go register today. Love the AP events.

You can only register by going to a ticket booth at Disneyland? Or can you do it online?

You must register in person at the Disneyland Resort - they are not allowing online registration for this one.

Oh dear. AVP, does this mean they are going to somehow synchronize the ears to Fantasmic for this show?

Yep, it was announced last week on the Disney Parks Blog, and discussed in today's Disneyland Resort Update.

Another question: "Passholders may bring up to three Annual Passholder guests" -- can anyone clarify this? Sorry, first time doing this. Does that mean I can sign up 3 additional APers just by giving their names at the ticket booth? Do I have to have their AP cards? Thanks in advance.

For the Glow with the Show event for World of Color, you (the AP who registered) got a ticket/voucher that was good for up to x guests. They scanned your AP, but nothing else was needed at that time. The day of the event, all guests needed to present themselves to the ticketbooth with their individual APs and the voucher in order to receive the wrist bands. So you will ultimately need the AP cards but not immediately.

Perfect, thank you so much!

Disneyland just posted details of this event. Note - they are not providing ears this time, and are asking you to bring your own:

Obviously, we can't return them in the traditional sense, but is there a way to get them replaced/repaired that you know of?
has anyone else reported this issue?

Well, I guess I won't be visiting at night any time soon.

Rosepins, one pair of ears in our household did the exact same thing. I haven't been back to see if there's anything they can/will do.

FYI I just confirmed that they are not taking registration over the phone for out-of-town AP holders.
As a premium AP holder, I find it frustrating to possibly be excluded from an AP event that I will be on property for, but can't register for unless I'm standing at the ticket booth (which won't be until this weekend).

I am not sure if ours are malfunctioning or not. 3 of our 4 pairs just lit up with a dull glow on their own (after being off since the WOC event). The 4th pair started flashing at the same time. I could not get them to shut off at all so I pulled the batteries out. I have a feeling they just never really shut off and had a constant drain on the batteries (and started acting up as the batteries were going dead). I haven't tried replacing them with new batteries yet.
If that takes care of the problem we will just make sure to remove the batteries when we aren't using the ears.

Based on Glow with the Show, this shouldn't be a problem; YMMV.

Nice. Look, I wasn't trying to sound whiny about it. Just expressing frustration as an AP holder, who despite being fully prepared to confirm my desire to participate at this registration only AP event, cannot do so.
We were able to register for APEE online well in advance. I fail to see why they cannot provide the same availability for all AP events.
Yes I am aware the popularity isn't sky high based on WoC Glow with the Show. I did not assume registration would be 100% full by the end of the weekend. That's why I said we might "possibly be excluded" because we cannot register immediately. But my hands are tied until our plane lands and we arrive on property.

I understand your frustration, but I think I also see why Disney might be sticking to this restriction. When they did the Soundsational AP events, they allowed registration by email. I wonder if a whole bunch of people RSVPed and then didn't show up, while others couldn't come because Disney had already reached their allotment of how many RSVPs they'd accept. It seems like since then, they've been requiring registrations to be done only in person. I think they made some exceptions for the Fantasmic event, but I don't remember if they did for the World of Color glow with the show event. And, it's been reported that lots of APs are registering for early entry and then not showing up. Maybe Disney figures if they make people register in person for an event, there's a better chance of them actually coming. Since all of these events are free, I'm not sure how Disney could alleviate the problem of large percentages of people RSVPing and then being no-shows.

E, I was really concerned about the impact but we did 2 WoC shows on our trip, one late one and one early and there weren't enough ears in the crowd to even notice if you weren't looking for them. We saw a few people here and there with the ears but based on what we experienced I'm not seeing a big increase in them. They are expensive, they don't have kids sizes and they aren't exactly comfortable...my son from another mother has a set and we let missy try them on, she hated them. The batteries only last about 8 hours and he had to change his batteries before our first show and by the second show he was barely in sync and had to restart them twice. Granted his are the freebies but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that even the ones that people are plunking down full price for are running into the same issues. His ears did interact at the Cozy Cone and a few other places but no worse than the blinking crap that the park sells by the truck load every night.

I agree, I can see no-shows being a problem.
Oh well, since they are not giving away hats this time, I'll just hope less people are interested, at least until I arrive and can register myself and my family

Fantasmic is already hard for me to negotiate. It tends to overload me more than WOC. I think it's the boom from the canon. I don't think I can deal with much more! :0
I don't expect the ears to last in popularity, though, for all the reasons you mentioned. I can wait a bit for the excitement to wear off before catching Fantasmic. After that, it's only the random manic blinking set that is an issue for me.
I'm also having some issues with the light "show" at Flo's but that's relatively easy to avoid.

Huge favor- my brother and I will be at DL on the 28th (both pass holders), but we can't get down there before to register. If anyone is willing to let us register with them, we would be eternally grateful!
