Premier Pass
Can you still upgrade to a premier using DL hopper admission and WDW hopper admission? Or will I only get 'credit' for the DL admission? I know they had funky rules (that were different from DL only AP upgrading rules) when they first came out with the premier, but not sure if those are still in effect.

You *really* need to call Disney on this one, because there are SO many variables that I wouldn't trust an answer you get from a discussion board. It's all going to depend on exactly what tickets you have, what they're worth, if they are used/partially used, and even which park you do this at.
Call Disney.

Thanks, Adrienne.
That's the best advice I could get on this.
I did decide, though, that I'm only going to do it if a discount comes out for our MA/W&D trip to WDW that makes it worth while - IF it comes out before my DL trip. And I'm NOT going to do it in hopes of seeing the new Fantasyland in the MK during AP previews.
And then I'll just ask at the ticket office.

D88...when I got mine in May I up graded using my hopper ticket just fine no problems at all!
I'd still call and find out anyway!

Can anyone give me the details on how a Premier works w/discounts over a DL premium? We're trying to sort out details for Feb WDW trip. Looks like just my mom wants to go, she usually has a DL PAP but they do let them expire and her current one will expire at the end of December this year. I know we could be looking at price increases at either park before Feb 2012, but it seems like it still would be cost effective for her to start off as a Premier (WDW base ticket 5 day I can buy is $257). Correct me though, if you buy this pass in DL there is no sales tax, but if you did in FL, there would be sales tax (and if so is it on the whole thing)??
Just to clarify, she is not interested in the waterparks or extra stuff and doesn't Golf, but the premier does give her all the "premium" WDW and PAP DL benefits/discounts, right? Free parking, etc?

Teddi.
You should probably get a Premier, it's worth if going to WDW once and DLR a couple times just for the savings on park hoppers alone. With a Premier you get Premium DLR AP benefits/discounts and Premier WDW AP benefits/discounts. At WDW you get a discount with and AP on the Tables in Wonderland Card, which gives a discounts on most Table Service dining including alcohol. Also an AP at WDW gives your better room rates than the general public discounts which also will save money. If staying offsite a great WDW trick is to buy a discounted ticket and upgrade it. You upgrade the tickets from the full gate price even if bought at a discount from a reseller allowing you to retain the savings.
The tax is the same here and there. It's the 0% CA plus 1/2 the FL tax.

There aren't always room discounts for all resorts with the WDW AP (I think 2 or 3 years we've struck out on that, but we've not been flexible in resort or dates).
I haven't run the exact numbers on the new prices, but when you do your comparisons, the WDW 'regular' AP doesn't have block out dates (just no water parks, etc) - so for comparisons you should look at that and not the premium. The discounts are the same with both there, too.

As AVP said, this can get pretty complicated. For what it's worth, we had a DL AP and an unused WDW MYW ticket purchased from an authorized ticket broker at a discount. The standard way to get the best value from an upgrade of a discounted MYW ticket is to enter the park and then the value is "bridged" to current gate price when you upgrade. However, I was told in an email from WDW ticketing that I could not use the value of both my DL AP and my used but still valid WDW MYW ticket to upgrade. My choice was to either upgrade the DL AP or upgrade the MYW ticket ( which would have meant I would have had both a DL AP and. premier AP vald at the same time). I elected the former for that trip.
I will be heading to WDW this Fall and have let my DL AP lapse so I can finally use my WDW MYW ticket and upgrade it to a Premier. I hope this helps. -- Suzanne
