Halloween Tickets and APs
We are planning on attending Mickey's Halloween Party, but I had a question about buying tickets. We have APs that will expire on Aug 21. We do not plan on renewing right away. Can we purchase the Halloween tickets at the discounted rate before our APs expire, or do the APs have to be valid when we use the Halloween tickets? TIA!

You need to be able to log into the AP website to be able to buy the tix.
Planning 3 trips at once...

That's a good question. I would call the AP help line to check on this. No one has ever asked to see our APs when we've used our party tickets, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen to other people. Do you have a Disney Visa card? You can get a discount on the party tickets that way (also if you have a DVC membership) and bypass the whole AP question.

Happiness is that smile
If you have an AP right now and purchase the tickets you can choose email or 'hard copy' usps delivery (there is a $5.00 shipping fee if you choose those) and it doesn't matter if your AP has expired.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets ~So love the people who treat you right
Forget about those who don't ~ Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance, take it If it changes your life, let it ~Nobody said life would be easy,
they just promised it would most likely be worth it~ remember, Sometimes Miracles Hide

Where do I go to get a discount with my Disney visa?

From last week's DL Update:
Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland – September 28; October 2, 5, 9, 12, 15, 19, 23, 26, 29 and 31. Advance-purchase tickets are on sale to Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders and to the general public via Disneyland.com or by calling (714) 781–4000. Advance-purchase tickets now are on sale to Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa Cardholders by calling 714-781-4636.
I assume that you can get your discount by calling the number listed above. Hope this works for you!

My AP is currently valid, so I would be able to log in now to buy them.

Nope, no Disney Visa, but thanks.

I hope that tea4two and MammaSilva are correct. I think we will call just to confirm. Thanks everyone.

DH called Disney yesterday and today to ask about the AP needing to be valid when the tickets are used. Both CMs he talked to said yes, the AP needs to be valid and are meant to be checked when using the ticket. We've never had our APs checked in the past and a couple people here said they never checked theirs either. We will sticking to the rules however, and just buy the non-AP discount tickets. Thanks for the help!

Will you be going to the party with anyone who has a valid AP? We bought party tickets with the AP discount last year as gifts for non-AP friends in our group (I think each passholder can buy up to 6 tickets). Our passes weren't checked, but even if they had been, we all went through the turnstiles together, so I think it would have been all right.
