    E-85 Stations on I-5

Hi All ... We leave for DLR in the morning for the first time in our Minivan that takes E-85 Flexfuel. We're going down I-5 from Sacramento and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a website with a list of stations along the I-5 corridor, or anything else that could help us find these stations. We'll probably need to fill up about halfway down.

Any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sorry I can't offer any advice or help except to look into AAA travel website or operator. Even if you aren't a member they may be able to help you with the information you are looking for.

I was curious on the type of fuel you mentioned and happened to do a google search. This site may be helpful www.afdc.energy.gov

The google search came up under flex fuel stations locator. There was a list of various websites. Have a wonderful time in DL.

Doh! I even typed "flexfuel" in my post but didn't when googling. Thanks so much!

Here's the problem with flex fuel. The websites are soooooooo outdated or inaccurate. I went to that site, and it shows NOTHING between Modesto and Fullerton. I really find that hard to believe. Especially when it shows ZERO in Sacramento and I know of at least 10. What's the point of being able to use it if you can't FIND it. Grrrrrrrr... and we just paid $2.89/gallon for it here. Paying under $3 / gallon is a beautiful thing!

I don't know how good your gas mileage is, but we filled up in Roseville, and didn't need gas until Anaheim. Freeway mileage though I get a good 20 miles per gallon. Use the cruise control, and not running the air conditioning help as well. The fist time we did this we had left in the evening and it was mild enough we really didn't need it except to cool the cabin off when it would get stuffy now and then 10 minute stretches here and there. This trip we didn't run it because it is broken. We still left in he evening, so not much traffic either. Slow and go from the hwy 50 interchange down through Elk Grove, and then construction traffic in Newhall, down to 2 lanes from 4 or 5.

ETA: This page has AAA phone numbers to call to help oyu find stations while on the road, and says you don't have to be a AAA member to use them.

In my dreams, LOL. Our 3 yr old van gets 15 if we're lucky. It took us 3 tanks for the round trip. :-( And that's 20 gallon tanks, mind you. It's funny -- we got this van through the Cash for Clunkers program, and yeah, it uses flexfuel, but it gets horrible gas mileage.

Oh well... it was a fabulous trip anyway! THANKS!!!

I have a 20 gallon tank. We only get about 15 in day to day life. We live above Auburn, so a lot of stop and go, short trips, etc, but put it on the freeway use the cruise control I can get 20.
Glad you had a good trip.
