Just purchased Disney gift cards for our trip at my local grocery store! They were offering 20 cents off a gallon of gas for every $50 in gift cards purchased. I bought $650 worth, giving me $2.60 off per gallon of gas. So my first fill-up for our road trip will only cost me $1.00 per gallon, in addition to the extra 6.50 in Disney rewards I earned! Sweet! Totally. Also, speaking of Disney rewards, I received my Disney rewards cards in the mail on Friday. A full year using the new "advanced" Disney rewards card resulted in nearly $350 in Disney cash, not to mention the $100 gift card I received last year at Disney for signing up for it. The old card would typically net me about $220 per year, so it's a nice increase, even with the $50 annual fee. I mean, $70 is $70, am I right. And finally, I scored a $40 Disney gift card just for taking part in a ten-minute DVC phone pitch. Not too shabby. 27 days and counting!!!

If I'm not at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, I'm not really happy.

Ooh! I got a flyer in the mail about that DVC pitch for a $40 gift card. I need to do that. Did it truly just take 10 minutes? I've been trying to find a time with the crumb-crunchers around my ankles all day.

But just think of all the fun you'll have packing it back on while at Disney!
Often thought of getting a pedometer to see how many miles we walk...especially the adult trips without carting kids around. :-)

Well, it's difficult to say because I've always toyed with the idea of DVC, but being typically a value resort customer it never made any financial sense for me (I really wish they'd unveil a value DVC program with less frills and space but still allowing the bargain hunters a chance to own a piece of Disney); as such I spent more time on the phone than perhaps you would need to, but I would say at least 20 minutes, perhaps using the kids as an excuse to get off the phone. They actually process the gift card procedure at the beginning of the call, so it isn't like you have to make it the full 10 minutes to get the card. The person who answers the phone takes all the info to mail out the card (30 days the brochure says), then you're patched through to the DVC salesperson. It's an easy way to make a quick $40 Disney cash.

I'm in such a dilemma. SW finally came out with their schedule, but I am waiting to see if I can get a better deal, My caregiver and I are flying out on the 29th of November to board the Fantasy on the 30th. She is going home when we get off on the 7th. The thing is, I want to extend my stay until the 12th. I would be solo in a wheelchair. I wasn't concerned until I blacked out at home last month, when I had pneumonia. I want to make ADR's ar Be Our Guest at the 180 day mark. Should I do this even though I am not even sure I am extending my stay? Think going solo in an electric wheelchair is wise???

Naw, I grew up in Florida so I never got bitten by the hockey bug. I was a big Steeler fan growing up, and it's why (partly why) I moved to the Burgh in 2004; I've kind of grown out of football thanks to the horrible new commish and the way the game has changed over the years, but I suppose I'll always have a soft spot for the black and gold; old habits die hard. Pittsburgh is a great town, with or without the sports teams, so I remain happy with my decision to move here.

Ooh, that's a tough one about the solo visit if you're concerned with your health. As for the reservation, make it! You can always cancel (but don't forget -- I think you get charged a fairly hefty fee if you don't cancel at least 24 hours prior to the reservation). As for the visit, is there no one who wants to go with you? If the black out was a rare event and your relative health is good, I say go for it!

    Packing has begun.
Replaced rear window lifts on the truck so I can actually load it without having the window crash on my head.
Got oil change materials. That will be done this week or this weekend.
Got new smartphones so we can have fun with Disney apps.
    Tires rotated and rebalanced.
New wiper blades arrived. (With the previously-mentioned window lifts.) Ill put them on this weekend as well.

... and this is just the beginning.

That's been my ill-thought-out standard of park storming. I'll try really hard pre-trip to lose about 5 pounds or so, which then gives me license to gain it all back and then some during my trip. That WDW food is so delicious, and them martinis are just so tasty!!!

My WDW Trip Accomplishments of the day :) Part 3

Just ordered and paid for Disney's photo pass plus. That's cost me 100 sterling. Never had it before but we always buy ride and meal photos and I realised the chances of us spending this amount on these alone is about 100% so it seems silly not to.

This will be one Disney trip where the photos actually show I was there too!!!!!

Was this at King Soopers (or Kroger equivelent)? I'm seeing something about deals up to 4x pts (which would be the same 20cents off per $50 purchase). Have to check it out...

Here in Pittsburgh we have a severely overpriced grocery store called Giant-Eagle (not Giant) that every once in a while offers these 20 cent gas discounts for every 50 dollars purchased; normally it's 10 cents per 50 dollars.

I've only been there for one game in the past and my friends (that I went with) live in Blairesville. I know that the others in the Kroger chain participate as well. I'm going to grab some at lunch today and more next week. I'm not driving down of course, but I could use the gas savings since I pretty much have to use Premium in both my vehicles.

Hopefully it will benefit our friends coming down to meet us from NC!!!

Sorry, to take so long to reply. It was just one leg from knee up. They didn't explain it well at BDL ( they never do, and the enforcement seems to change every time) but apparently you can't have ANYTHING in your pockets in that scanner, not just metal.

Side note: you can't keep barking at an elderly gentleman to keep his pants up -especially when you tell him to put his over his head-after you make him give up his belt!

I had to get the pat down once traveling in winter with long johns on. The layers combined were thick enough it showed up as having something in my pocket, but it was just the seam curled over...

    They're extremely sensitive...

So I got $150 in gift cards so far, but King Soopers (Kroger) is only doing double points--not 4x. Still =30cents off each gallon of gas through June and when I buy another $150-250 next week it will put me at 70cents off per gallon not counting my normal grocery points. I'm curious to see if I buy Visa gift cards and get the double points, if I can use those to buy Disney gift cards and get double double (x4).
