Anywhere to charge cell phone in park

Wondering if the camera shop on Main Sreet or another location, will allow you to charge your cell phone.

Not anymore, but they now offer "charging lockers" where you can plug in your devices. See our Disneyland Resort updates from around February of this year for details.

To help save your battery make sure to turn off everything running in the background and also wifi so it won't keep searching for it.

You could use any of the electrical outlets that ECVs can use though, can't you? (You'd just have to sit with it - oh fun times!)

Downstairs at the Hungry Bear restaurant is a set of pay phones and there is an electrical outlet there. There are also various outlets around the park, you just need to look for them.

almost every bathroom has an outlet but once again, you're stuck waiting until the charger is done.

We have a portable charger for our iPhone that we take in with us. It's essentially a rechargeable battery that you can plug your phone into to charge your phone.

    How heavy is that, 3P1P?
I'm assuming it wouldn't fit in a pocket?

Yes it does. It's very light. It's about the size of a CC (a little longer) and about an inch thick.

Be aware that if you use a random park outlet, you are likely to get a reprimand from cast members. One of the common lines is that the circuits/wiring is old, and you could cause an outage or fire.

You can read more about the charging lockers in this DL Update.

I actually went to Lost and Found to see if they had a charger that worked with my phone.
They let me plug it in nearby -- just long enough for me to get to two bars (sitting next to it, of course). And then I gave it back to them.

    True story:

We didn't bring our portable battery powered recharger during the AP preview of Cars Land and I was OUT of power. Sitting in Flo's V-8 Cafe, a gentleman approached our table and asked if he might share it. The place was EMPTY but we happened to be sitting next to an outlet. The only one he could find in the place! We said yes, IF he let me borrow his charger! He did. And in the process we made a new friend because we got to chatting! LOL

I've been using a battery case on my iPhone. It almost doubles the battery life which gets me through a day of moderate use n the parks with no problem.

This sounds kinda silly (I'm not saying it isn't what they say, but what they're saying is silly). If an outlet is that old and someone could start a fire just by plugging into it, then that outlet should be taken out and covered over. Seems more like a company line to keep people from "borrowing" electricity.

They seemed to have changed their tactic. Instead of telling you that you're posing a danger to their stuff by possibly starting a fire, we've gotten the caution that the "old wiring" could cause damage to our phone, and they wouldn't want us to take that risk. Maybe they figured that showing concern for your property would be a better way to get people not to plug stuff in.
Now different is nice, but it sure isn't pretty, pretty is what it's about
I never met anyone who was different who couldn't figure that out
But beautiful, I'd never live to see
But it was clear, if not to her, well, then to me.

Tried it out today. Lockers worked nice, & an hour gave my Droid Razr 30% of power. I am now thinking I should've gotten the Droid Razr Maxx. Lol

I would actually have a giggle aloud if they tried that approach in Flo's, I'm just saying...

I've heard both sides of those "reasons" from various confused CMs. The "our wiring is old and dangerous "or "your charger might damage our stuff" (ever heard of UL or NECA?). Both are utterly ridiculous.

I've never been stopped (fortunate I guess.) But I also use out of the way outlets. My favorite is in the bushes near the exit to BTMRR. I will sit there and wait while the kids ride and charge.

I never gave this much thought until a few days ago, when my pal and I were in the western-ish store that's around the corner, to the right, as you exit Golden Horseshoe. We were browsing and noticed a wire running from an outlet to a spot behind a pile of hats. It turned out there was an unattended iPhone charging there, just lying on the barrel behind the hats. It was odd enough that I asked the CM working the register if he knew it was there. He did. Someone was very trusting!

3P1P, that is very cool! I had no idea those existed, and could have used that the night we slept in the Esplanade for the Carsland grand opening. I'm going to order one. Thank you!

There's a bunch of different back-up batteries. We have two different batteries. One is thin and lighter weight - the other is bigger but holds more charges - so we could charge more than one phone or one phone more than once. The bigger one is an "Anker" I don't remember what our lighter one is.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the ZAGGsparq - it's a portable battery pack for smartphones, tablets and USB-powered devices in general. It'll provide (on average) two or three full charges for most phones and it recharges overnight. We have two (one each) and I know many MP staff have them as well. In the data signal-hostile zone of the Disneyland Resort, they're invaluable.

No remuneration for that, by the way, I'm just a very happy customer.
