Parking Fees
Are there any ways to get discounted parking at the theme parks? We will be going for 8 days in October-November to participate in the YES Program, staying at a timeshare off-site that doesn't offer a shuttle, and don't have an annual pass. I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find any coupons or discounts....just a bunch of people saying to park at a Disney hotel & say you're checking it out for a future visit, then hopping on a bus. Not comfortable with that......

I am not aware of any parking discounts. However, the good news is that if you park at one park, you are allowed to park at the other parks throughout the day.
As for parking at the resorts and then swing to a park, that is really not allowed these days and they are going to limit you to no more than three hours. That is, of course, they even let you park there. (Sometimes parking is restricted to guests of the resort or those who have reservations for dining/activities, due to crowds or special events.) Now, some might say that some places dont check the amount of time you are at a resort and that may be true in many cases. However, I think just from what you said above, you would like to do the right thing. I certainly respect that.
I know for 8 days of parking, its not chump change. At least you have some time to save up for it now that you know what you will be up against.

mousesavers.com has most (if not all) of the credible discounts for any part of a Disney vacation. Granted I haven't looked hard, but I've never seen anything about discounts for parking, aside from AP discounts.
I believe I've read that you've gotten discounted theme park tickets through YES, so this may not work out --- but have you looked at the numbers of parking + ticket vs the AP for one of you? Especially if you're parking at the parks each of your days, that can QUICKLY add up to the price difference in admission media.

There are no discounts for parking at the Theme Parks. However, if you leave the Park, be sure to retain your daily parking receipt. If you return to the park, or go to a different one, as long as you have a parking receipt for that day you will be admitted into the parking lot at no cost.

What's the going rate per day these days, CF? Is it still $14? I don't pay much attention because I'm a on-site person, but I should know this....

$14 isn't as bad as my local Six Flags...$22/day to park there!

Well, that's what you get for being a Yankees fan.....*JUST KIDDING*
For some reason, I get it for a game, but it seems so high when you are already paying so much for the gate.

Like game tickets are cheap?
Hotels in the heart of the city charge an arm and a leg for parking, PLUS the room rate - plus many of them are valet only, so that's an additional tip!

SF Hyatt by the Embarcardero is $50.00 per night for guest parking, just as an example.

It's really not any different than paying to park at a concert. You've probably paid quite a bit for your concert ticket, but you still have to pay for parking, usually more if you want to park closer rather than far away.

lol - If that's the price I have to pay for being a Yankee fan I can accept that! To paraphrase Joe Dimaggio: I'd like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee fan!

When I went to Six Flags Great America a couple of weeks ago, the parking fee was $20.
I don't know and I don't care if It's a Small World. It's a nice day when you wake up in Disneyland.

I think Disney has to keep the parking prices lower than their competitors because people tend to go to WDW for several consecutive days when they are on vacation. If you are going to Six Flags it is generally a one day thing, so you end up paying $20 or $22. If Disney charged $20 for parking it could end up costing a family $100 or $120 extra for their week long vacation. For some people that could make or break their vacation budget.

I just don't see this as being much of a consideration on the part of Disney - not with what they charge for everything else!

Even Disney's price difference seems like a bargain till you include that cost in your planning estimate if staying off site and using a rental car to get to the parks.

Anyone who knows me would say that I would rather die than pay $22 to park at Six Flags.. For a day trip to WDW I could be tempted to park at Downtown Disney and get a bus to a resort near the park e.g. the Contemporary for the Magic Kingdom. That's not cheating.
