July 3/4th Fireworks - MK Resort beach restrictions in place.
I saw this via facebook a few moments ago:
...the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts will be closed to all non-guests for the July 3rd & 4th fireworks. In addition, those with Resort Dining Reservations will not have access to the beaches at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resorts.
(From the group: Disney Ride Classification Program.)
So.... if you are not a guest at any of these resorts, you will not be able to go to the beaches there to watch fireworks. Having ADR's at those resorts will not override that directive.
I wonder how they will check all those guest ID's to show they are actually guests at those resorts.
The search function is like the Force. It may take practice, but the more you use it, the more control you will have over it!

My guess is that each group would have to show a valid room key card. It's really the only thing that identifies anyone as a current guest of that resort (and why those with just an ADRs would not be eligible to watch from the sandy beaches - they wouldn't have a valid room key card).
They will likely have some sort of checkpoint that you have to go through. (I actually think this is a good idea - those staying at a resort should have access to all the amenities first).

Actually, I knew there would be an ID check since the number on the ID does indicate your resort - but its the how part that I was wondering about since there was bound to be a ton of people. (ie: a very laborious endeavor.) From what I saw online in places, they made it a wristband sort of thing for guests and there are many CM's checking the crowds.
It sounds like those w/out a wristband are not being allowed past a certain point.
And agreed - those staying there should have first dibs. Its only fair.

It doesn't seem that there was a big crackdown last night, as several people I follow on twitter were there and were not hotel guests. My guess is they will enforce it at their discretion if things get too crowded.

Good for Disney! I hate non-resort staying freeloaders at special events such as the July 4 fireworks. On-site guests of those resorts should get the privilege of what they're paying for.
