I tried Red's Apple Freeze Sunday...I REALLY liked it and it was favorably reviewed by the others in my group...although I don't know that I could drink a whole one myself with getting a sever case of brain-freeze
what I found sort of revealing was that both the groups in line in front of me left without even asking about the menu when they found they couldn't get the drinks in a cone

Not a bad idea at all.

Yes! This is what i found too . . . People want the cone cups and since the Red's Apple Freeze cone doesn't have these, it's not a popular line. I think they need to fix this issue before they loose the best drink in the lot!

The other thing that is an issue for me is that you have to go to different cones for different drinks. I wish there was just one drink cone. That was your whole party waits in one line. Not a big deal when it's adults, but with kids, you could potentially wait in 3 lines to get everyone their drink, it's an unnecessary hassle that I think will put some people off.

I'm not a corn dog lover -- so maybe I'm off on this--- but wouldn't corn dog bites mess up the ratio of cornmeal/coating to meat?

That's part of the reason I don't like popcorn chicken and popcorn shrimp - too much batter, not enough meat.

As other people said, I agree that a major drawback to that line was that it doesn't sell regular fountain drinks. We wanted to get the special cone mug and I recall there being one or two windows that it wasn't sold at. This meant that we had to wait in a longer line to get it from a different vendor. I would have been very happy at the shorter line and would probably have also gotten the reds drink. Instead we got the specialty drink at the ice cream place.

I buy mini corn dogs and the ratio is just fine, I think.

They've had these at the Coke Corner in Disneyland for a while now - very tasty!

It's the realy I only like corn dog bites- I only like the batter! As a kid I peeled my corn dogs and left the hot dog part for someone else.

Hmmm, that's true, there is something about a good corn dog batter. I know everyone raves about the corn dog cart at Disneyland. I've only been once. The corn dog I got was nasty - overcooked, to the point of almost being burned in parts, and there was a hole in the batter, so the oil had gotten to the hot dog itself. The husband keeps telling me that I just happened to get a bad one, but so far, I haven't been able to convince myself to try it again.

As someone who gets a corndog from the red cart almost every trip, trust me - you got a bad one. They're usually big and juicy and meaty and oh so tasty!

Definitely agree with you there, Dan. I have gotten a bad once once but it was at the end of the night (during fireworks). Otherwise they are just plain divine!

Siggy, one of these days make your way to Grass Valley for the Nevada County Fair. (Lovely shaded fairgrounds) BEST CORNDOGS anywhere. The Job's Daughters booth not the midway ones. At DL, I have a bite of Whistler's, cause I like them but not worth the heartburn and tummy troubles of eating a hot dog. All bets are off in GV, I eat a whole one myself, which is a hotdog and a half, cause they make em big.

I actually find the corn dog bites are better than regular corn dogs. The ratio of batter to dog is perfect! I always used to get them at Casey's Corner.

Good to know,Candles. I've heard good things about the Grass Valley fair. I don't usually get corn dogs anywhere else as they can't compare to Disneyland!!!

It is the opposite in this case. Seriously! It is always cool and lovely at those fair grounds. There are pretty good paths for an ECV or wheelchair as well.
