Happiness is that smile
We really need a LIKE button here! I really liked the sweet and spicy popcorn but due to restrictions I only had a few bites as did another good friend who has the same problem I did, Lucky for us we had someone with no restrictions that could finish it for us. I've had a sip of Docs grape tonic and liked it, haven't tasted the apple drink more because I'm not a big fan of apple. I do want to taste the pear one next visit but even if I love it, it's a sip and done for me.

Waiting impatiently for next trip
I really want to try the other popcorn flavors. I know a lot of people have liked the pickle flavor, but I tried it and didn't really get the pickle flavor, maybe just a faint trace. I thought maybe I got a bad batch do I tried again the next day and it was the same thing, little or no discernible pickle flavor, just very salty.

I'd LOVE to know what the numbers are on the pear drink in its various varieties. With just soda water it wasn't even sweet - more like flavored water.

That's one reason I liked it because it wasn't overwhelming. The more I ate the more pickle flavor. If it had been stronger it would have been too much IMO.

I think I was expecting something like the Dill Pickle sunflower seeds which are very strong (too much so).

I agree, the pickly flavor is very light. It didn't get stronger as I ate more, and I finished most of the box. I would have liked it to be stronger, but I understand that might not please most people. It's like the bacon & cheddar flavor - very light on the bacon flavor. I did like the salt & vinegar flavor. Generally light on the vinegar, but there were pockets of vinegar-y flavor which were like little found treasures.
And *butter* is STILL not a "flavor".

I'm glad I finally read this thread because now I so need to try a grape and a pear drink.
What is the foam like?

Obviously not official, BUT *if* they are using the standard 1/4oz pump, then each drink has 1/2 oz of syrup, or about 40 calories and 11 grams of carbs, added to either the soda water or Sprite.
When I'd calculated this in another thread, I thought they were using 1oz pumps of each syrup, but I've since been told the standard pump for the syrup is calibrated to 1/4oz.

Popcorn and Red's Apple Freeze are the only things I believe you could sample or have heard of anyone sampling; the other drinks are mixed to order, so there's no real way to sample them. In fact, I don't think a sample of Red's would even give you the right flavor, since I believe the marshmallow flavoring is added to the frozen apple mixture as it's poured. Either the sample would have no flavoring, or too much for the sample size.

I love the apple freeze but there's a huge problem: That cone has NO business at all. There are lines 20 deep next door for popcorn and the 2 CMs inside the pretzel/apple cone are supporting their heads up with their arms in boredom. That means a change is in the air as far as rotating around the food items and I don't know if the freeze will survive. We'll see.

I enjoyed Red's Apple Freeze so I'm hoping it stays around for a long time. My mom loved the grape drink, and I liked it as well. I thought Ramone's Pear of Dice was good too. I would have no problems getting any of the three, but I'd say Red's was my favorite.

I was reading the Disney Blog and it looks like the apple drink and the pear drink are available at MadT party as well. They come in 16 oz and 32 oz souvenir glasses and have slightly different names. Would make sense though as it is all sold at DCA.
Have a Disney Day!

I really like the spiced caramel apple drink that Starbucks has in the fall. I like the apple and caramel together but I am thinking this drink is much more sugary sweet than that - huh ? I don't know about the flavors on the popcorn but since I have dining vouchers for this trip - I am sure we will try stuff.

Finally tried Red's Apple Freeze and LOVED it. I'm indifferent on the foam, but the actual drink is awesome. Had it yesterday around lunchtime, and it was just so refreshing in the heat... I can't decide if this or the pomegranate limeade is my new Cars Land favorite. I didn't care for the pear drink, and still need to try the grape (and the popcorn flavors, for that matter)... so many things to try! :-)

We went by the cones yesterday to check the popcorn flavors (butter and cheese - meh), and while each of the other cones had at least 10 people in line, the pretzel bites/apple freeze cone had zero people in line, and that's not the first time that I've seen that to be the case. For the time we were standing there, no one came near that cone, until we were just about to leave, and I noticed a family of 3 walk up to that cone. I don't know if they'd change the pretzel bites or the apple freeze or both, but I agree with one of the people in our group who said a change has to be coming soon, given how glaringly obvious it is that the items sold at that particular cone are not garnering any interest at all from customers.

Fun is wherever you find it...
It seems to me that the attraction at each cone is the food item, not necessarily the drink. So - how appealing are Pretzel bites with cheezy sauce. Not decadent or sweet enough.

I was thinking the same thing. The Apple Freeze seems to be pretty popular, but the food item isn't drawing big crowds to that stand.

But if the apple freeze really was that popular, wouldn't there be at least some people in line to buy that?

Are they soft or 'crunchy' pretzel bites?

Soft. They're the same texture as a standard Mickey pretzel. I liked them, but like others have said, they aren't very exciting or decadent.

My thinking too was that pretzel bites are pretty boring. I think also that the average visitor (not the people who frequent message boards like this or read all the Disney blog updates, etc.) glance quickly at the cone menus looking for a snack and pick the one that has the appealing food and then get whatever drink is available there. Whether or not the apple freeze is a good drink, it seems unlikely it's going to gain a very large following unless it's paired with a better food item so that more people line up and discover it.

I had the Red's Apple Freeze last week and LOVED it! WOW!!!!! Yum, yum! I even had another one that evening (because it was SOOOO hot that day). We also had the Chili Cone Carne. It was pretty darned good! I really liked going up to the not-so-busy cone with Red's Apple Freeze, but I can see how they might suffer . . . I'd hate to see them get rid of that drink just because the food is boring (the pretzle bites are good, but not as original as the other options). They also don't sell the special cone cups at that window. That could be part of the issue. Everyone wants the cone cups right now.
I did, however, LOVE how they greeted me at that window - and only that window. "How CONE I help you?" LOL! And then, "Help yourself to the CONEdiment bar behind you!" So cheesy, but fun! The guy was really into it and that makes it more fun.

You know, with the Corn Dogs so popular at the parks, maybe they could create corn dog bites/mini corn dogs in a cone. I'd go for that!
