Switching resorts for 1 night? Worth it?

We will be paying for our own room the last night of our stay (the rest of the stay is through the union and we are staying an extra day). We can get a room where we are staying for the rest of the trip at the convention rate but would have to still check out and back in. The convention rate is $159+tax, and I can get a standard value room for $95+tax (less if a room discount comes up). It'd also save me from paying for the Mears shuttle back to the airport (though it's a minimal savings since we get a discount on round trip bookings through the convention).

Would a $70 savings be worth moving for one night especially when we'd have to move our stuff ourselves? (factored in taxi cost for the move to my savings already)

Is there early entry the next morning that you'd be able/want to take advantage of?

$70 is a decent amount of money at the food booths!

That one is a break even for me. I would say yes off the top of my head, but it REALLY depends on how you feel about packing, repacking, and schlepping. I would do it for the shuttle myself, though.....so yes....

I would do it. Not only would you save money - there's just a whole different feeling to being on-site.

Have a magical vacation, whatever you do.

i would do it too. take one bag with the stuff just for the last day. dont unpack it... so when you pack of from your first hotel, you can leave all that stuff packed, and use your "last night" bag....less to pack/unpack. if you check in early in the am the resort will hold your luggage while you go to the parks until your room is ready.
then your last day you only have to pack up the clothes you had on for moving day. IMHO that is what i would do

It'll depend on our flight times. But we could do late EMHs that night.

$70 is quite a bit....especially for just the 2 of us.

We are packing light, and would just pack our last day stuff in a smaller duffle or right on top.

Personally I wouldn't want the hassle. But then I won't resort hop in a two week trip! It wouldn't be worth $70 to me.

I haven't yet. I'm still waiting to see if I get to go too or if I'll be in nursing school. Then we will book flights and decide.
