Our DLR And DCA trip video shot w/ GoPro HD Hero 2
Hi everyone!
It's been awhile! But I'm back with a video from our trip on 6/22-6/24. My wife gave me a GoPro HD Hero 2 as an early birthday gift and we went out and shot a bunch of things on our trip. Shot using 1080p wide setting on the GoPro and filmed using the Grenade Grip from GoPole, as well as the Head Strap from GoPro. Edited on Final Cut Pro 7.
Warning: if you HAVEN'T been to DCA yet and DON'T want to see any elements of Buena Vista Street or Cars Land (including rides), don't watch! or watch, but close your eyes during the DCA parts. LOL
THAT IS AWESOME FOOTAGE! Love it! Now I want one and my bday is coming up in July. Would be great for our DL trip in August. Don't know the first thing about it but know they have a website. Which edition did you use? It looks like they have 3 - outdoor, motorsports, and surf. My brother is a surfer and he would love it too. Thanks so much for sharing. Post more video if you have it. Very enjoyable to watch and loved your music selections as well.

My wife bought me the Motorsports edition, though for the the video, I didn't use anything that was really specific to the Motorsports edition (like, the suction cup, etc.).

On RSR, I used the Headstrap (sold separately) for the POV shots and I used the Grenade Grip by GoPole (sold on Amazon) for the handheld shots pointing back at us. For the car shots, we used one of the mounts that came with the GoPro.
Just bought the HD Go Pro 2 for our upcoming trips to DL, Hawaii, etc. I love your video of DL and wanted to know how you got the shots on Splash Mountain pointing back at you and your wife and the ones on Screamin? The video does not shake at all in those shots. Did you use the GoPole for Splash and Screamin? I am so terrified on those rides that I would be holding on to the ride grips and not the camera grips. Did you mount the camera anywhere on those rides? Thanks!
I used a Grenade Grip by GoPole for those shots. You can find it on Amazon. Basically, attached the Grenade Grip to the GoPro and had the GoPro facing toward us. Didn't really mount it anywhere, because there really isn't a place to mount it. I brought the suction cup mount with me, but didn't trust it to stick on to anything that was moving TOO fast. Most of the shots in the video are handheld using the GoPole.
Hope that helped! Feel free to ask me anything else
