Please help with dinner reservations
This will be our second trip to WDW. I will admit on our first trip I did not know anything about reservations and of course we were not able to eat at any nice restaurants only walk ups. Needless to say the food was NOT the highlight of our trip. I have made reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern & 50's Prime Time Cafe. I am also thinking of 'Ohana's and Boma's. Should we do a breakfast or a dinner at Boma's?
Are these good choices to start with? We don't have any small children, so we don't really need any characters or music shows, just two giant teen age boys who like lots of food! I am kinda struggling with our day at Epcot. All of the restaurants sound good, I'm almost tempted to just do a round the world smorgasbord
5 minutes ago he was sitting on my shoulders pointing at the cows in Munger's field....And then you blinked...
Enough with the blinking, no more blinking!

I would do Boma dinner for the teenage boys for one big reason -- teenagers don't like to get up early and I'd rather spend my 'get up early' cards on parks and not restaurants!
Ohana is a GREAT choice for you.
If it appeals to you at all, I think Biergarten in Germany may be a good choice. Because of the teenage boy factor, and it's a buffet. Though the restaurant in Morocco may also appeal, since they have a belly dancer!
My sister and I are for sure doing La Hacienda on our next trip, because we had a 'taste' of it at a special event and it was really good. But it's NOT Tex-Mex type of food, and as long as the boys aren't EXPECTING that, they should still enjoy it.
As you guessed, you really can't go wrong with the eateries at Epcot (though I've heard far fewer positive reviews of 9 Dragons than negative ones) - just those were my first thoughts for a group with two teenage boys. Though, they might actually enjoy a Princess dinner in Norway, if they can ignore all the little girls in princess dresses and focus on the actual characters

I am leaving for WDW on monday july 1 for my 60th birthday trip. i have ressies for Plaza Restaurant tues - first time there for me (24 prior visits) 50's Prime time...every visit favorite, and for my birthday i am going to Kona for tonga toast for my birthday breakfast , then off to MK and have dinner at Tonys.
Ohana is amazing for breakfast, have never done dinner there.. the food is excellent and the service and characters are a blast. i dont think there is a bad choice at any Disney restaurant. good luck with your choices

I might also recommend stopping in Mexico while in Epcot, although my favorite is San Angel Inn. The restaurant has a really fun atmosphere as it is located inside the "marketplace" of the Mexico pavilion right next to the "Grand Fiesta Tour." I don't know of too many teenage boys that aren't Mexico food fans!
If you haven't had a chance to check it out, all of the menus for the restaurants around Walt Disney World are located at http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm. Sometimes I just like to read through a few at a time and see if any sound especially yummy!

The San Angel Inn has the nicest ambiance of any restaurant at Disney, but I'm afraid it's pretty hit or miss as to service quality. We had a simply horrible meal this past visit at the San Angel. Our waiter was inattentive at best. My Mole was actually pretty good, but a bad server can ruin the experience. Still, that doesn't mean a good meal can't be had there, just ask Dan.

If I'm not at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, I'm not really happy.

To the OP: I agree with a lot of your choices and I'll second Ohana as a dinner choice.
If there is no one in the family who objects (because of allergies or a dislike) to a buffet heavy on seafood items, you might take a look at the sample menu for the Cape May Buffet: http://allears.net/menu/menu_cmc.htm

Hi, Dan here. I've had some pretty great meals at the San Angel Inn over the past couple of years. But yeah, a bad waiter can ruin an otherwise good experience. And sadly, a waitperson can have an off night even at the best of restaurants.

As the owner of a teenage boy I would also recommend the buffets. My boy inhales copious amounts of food. He also likes looking at the female face characters

The word "inhale" when mixed with "copious" makes it even better.
