    Baby Swap?

I have a 36" almost 3yo and a 6 mo. Last time we were at the parks, the four if us waited in line for Gadget's Go Coaster and then my DH and I took turns riding with the preschooler while the other stood with the baby just outside the exit. When we went to get in line for Autopia (knowing the baby was too small to ride) we thought the same thing would occur. However the CM, who appeared new, said the baby couldn't even wait in line. Is this standard? We've never faced that situation before. My sister and I are taking the 6 mo this weekend (I'm buying some birthday presents for the almost 3yo - I'm not *that* mean!), and would prefer to visit with each other.

Can you combine rider swap with single rider? I know you can with FP.

Yes. I'm surprised that they let the 6 mo. old in line at Gadgets. I suspect that the Cast Member who was supposed to monitor the line missed it.

In my Cars Land for Families article that ran yesterday, In the section about Infants and Toddlers, I explained how Rider Switch Passes works at Disneyland.

The policy of the program is that children who are too small to ride are NOT allowed to wait in line with the rest of the group. Usually this is a good time to change a diaper, feed a baby or run an errand. If the line is long enough the too small child and adult can ride another attraction or you might go grab food and have it ready to go when the rest of the group gets off the ride, or you might plan on riding the faster rides while the baby is sleeping.

I don't know about Single Rider but the answer to Fast Pass is: Yes. In fact, this is a good strategy because one person can get a FP for ride A and the other person can get a FP for ride B without waiting for the window to open up from the first FP. (It's a way to hold FPs for two attractions at the same time.)

Yep, they can't wait in line if they are too small to ride. I ran into this when I wanted to show my littler one the Star Tours line. Just, can't.
