I'm beginning to think we will be there at the same time - we are doing 27 Oct to 10 Nov @ Saratoga Springs, but are doing the MNSSHP on 31 Oct. When are you there? What is your MNSSHP party date?

Silvercat, have you thought about doing MouseAdventure? It's a fun (yet some times aggravating) way to spend a day - this time in the Magic Kingdom!

Rats! Never occured to me to look at this, and now we have reservations @ Yak & Yeti as that day is our (only!) AK day this time. What a shame! Never mind, we'll be back in WDW next year at around the same time of year, so maybe next time?

Oh, when you do have the date we could make a MP meet out of it too! I know some others that are staying from MouseAdventure (the 4th) to Wine & Dine half marathon (the 10th)

October 23-31. I haven't purchased tickets yet, but I'm looking at the 25th. I thought the 30th would be way too crowded! The 31st would be so cool!

I have never been to the Food and Wine Festival* My handsome and I mighttttt try to sneak one in - today all we've been doing is DISNEYYYY talking!!
How exactly does this work? I know you have to get into Epcot, but to food and wine taste- is there an extra fee ? ticket? I know there are special events that require an extra booking, but just to sample around the world- how do you go about that?

The booths are set up around World Showcase and if you check out the website, you can see what's offered at each booth:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/par...l/marketplace/
The items are purchased individually, and most are around $3-4.
There are some free things in the Festival Center, and the culinary demonstrations and wine seminars are $11-14, you generally get a small item (that you watched the chef prepare) and a paired wine and the wine seminars are usually 3 selections (sometimes the pours are more generous than others, but they're not huge). These used to be free, but the lines were getting ridiculous, so they started charging a little bit, and it's made them much more enjoyable, IMHO. I believe there's an AP discount (the TIW discount is $2, so I'm presuming the AP discount is too).

The food and beverage pairings and luncheons are usually a pretty good deal, though not cheap.
The crowds traditionally have been much heavier on Fridays and Saturdays, so if you can avoid those two days, it's a much more relaxing experience (I'm not a big crowd fan)

Cathy, I purchased Dessert Party tickets online. Do you recall where you pick up tickets (if necessary)? Also, in which building is the party?

Cathy gave you the scoop above. I just wanted to add that you can make a really fun meal out of a F&W visit. Just start at either side - Mexico or Canada - and work your way around, stopping at the booths where there's something of interest. Each item is usually just 2 or 3 bites worth, and the wine pours are smallish. I usually take my food and drink to the nearest trash can and use it as a table, pausing a couple minutes to munch while enjoying the vibe of the World Showcase. I make it about 1/2 way around the lagoon before I'm totally stuffed and nicely buzzed - a very fun and unique meal!

Any idea if you can use snack credits for beverages (beer/wine)? Thanks!

Nope. No beverages are eligible for snack credits. At least not historically. You can always use one for water to stay hydrated!

Needed benefits, so I took a Full Time at a local college. Working in the career center, ironically enough. I LOVE the new job, but it means A LONG time until I can take a vacation!

Oh, and WDWGurl --- a meal eaten at boths is NOT normally an inexpensive one, especially if you're trying lots of beverages. Just wanted to make sure you knew that part!

Is this weird? When I enter through Future World I head toward Mexico as I really enjoy the Latin American booths (and the frozen adult beverages). When I enter through International Gateway I head toward the United Kingdom. I love the Irish booth and the beer. Both directions are going clockwise so maybe that's what I REALLY prefer doing!
