I have some spots on my charity team. I'm allowing my current team members the courtesy of registering until this afternoon before I make the link public. I'll post it here later when I send it to runDisney for publication.

And we'll have a first hand report on the improvements from the first year (this is the third year) for you all, too! (My sister walked and I cheered the first one, and there were some definite mis-steps in the logistics that supposedly were better last year)

I signed up for my first Disney 5k. I'll be walking in the Neverland Family Fun Run 5k in January. Has anyone else done the 5k? How much of a stickler are they on the 16 minute mile for the 5k? I'm trying to figure out where I should really be at speed wise if I want to take pictures on the route, I know Disney suggest a 15 minute mile for that but I'm thinking I need to try to get to about a 13 minute mile instead. UGH. I've done 5k charily walks before but never had a speed limit so I'm worried I'll meet the Disney requirement. At least I've got a few months to try to get to where I need to be
Needs to win the lottery so I can get my next trip to WDW planned. Then plan trips to Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney, and Hong Kong Disney.
I love: my cats, scrapbooking, and all things Disney
I'm running the Never Land 5K.
Although, someone told me since it's a family run, it's kind of an obstacle race for adult runners, because the little ones are all over the place. Is this true, or does the slower and/or smaller traffic keep to the right? I don't want to crash into anyone.

There will be people everywhere going every speed. If you see a devilishly handsome 6 year old boy dash past you and leave you in his dust, that's probably my son.

Fantastic! If they run in front of you, it's their own fault for getting crashed into. Don't worry about it. People who know race etiquette will try to stay to one side or the other. I don't always keep right on course, because it winds and turns, but I do try to stay to one side and check over my shoulder when moving or stopping to walk.
I wish more people paid attention to course etiquette. Don't be surprised to get bumped into by a few hotshots wearing headphones who never even say excuse me.
Sadly, I just had a runner drop out of Tink due to a hip injury. That means I have one spot open on Team Muscle Makers for UCMD. PM me if you are interested.

RunDisney has opened up limited slots for the race today on "Green Friday." Register now before they're gone.
I thought about it, but I really think I'm done with large capacity races, and Disney races in particular.

I asked this in the wrong thread... so I'm asking again here:
My sister registered as a team and has a crazy high bib number, 20000 plus. Will she definitely be in the last corral or is there a chance she will be somewhere else and just has the high number due to the team registration?
It's possible, but most likely it means that all of the people in the team were placed in the same corral. Disney divides up bib numbers in numeric order, so a higher number means you are farther back (exception being Goofy where runners are mixed in with half and full marathoners). She can bring proof of time to the Expo to get her corral moved up.
I'm familiar with how the numbering works, but I know in the past I've seen 20000 plus numbers when there aren't that many people even running the race. I've always wondered if those people are always in the last corral or if they are spread out more and had high numbers assigned for a different reason.
She isn't part of a big team, just registered as the two person team with commerative bib. This is her first half so she doesn't have proof of time. I know she is going to do just great, but being her first event she is terrified of being swept. I was hoping she'd be in the next to last corral at least for a small cushion. I've never started in the last corral of a race so it will be a new experience for me. I'm glad I'll be with her and that she won't be alone.
You don't need to have completed a half marathon before, but the proof of time for the half marathon needs to be for a 10K or longer race. She might consider doing a local timed 10K in order to have a time to get moved up, especially if her pace is faster.
I'm glad you'll be there for her for her first race. If nothing else, I would suggest going to the corral early so that you can position yourself as far forward as possible.
I'm not sure why they haven't released the corral assignments for Tink like they did for the WDW marathon weekend. It would certainly assuage some of the concerns!
The high bib number could also be if the team captain didn't imput any estimated times for people or proofs of times. Or if they registered after the first team deadline. Team registrations work differently.

On my waiver, the size says "No". Uhm, no?? That's not a size!
Last year they were FANTASTIC about letting people trade shirts to get the size they need. I hope I don't have any problems.
