This must have been a whopper of a storm! Hopefully all are ok--Light pole fell onto one of the roller coaster cars. (June 7, 2012)

Can you imagine being on a ride when it malfunctioned? I'd FREAK!

Working hard for that next WDW trip! December 2013

Disney's official response will now be to build nets around the track to prevent something like this in the future . . .

I would think that a wire tether would be suitable backup.

Obviously, the ride needs to be totally enclosed now.

We leave on Sunday (June 17) for our trip. Do you think that EE will be open next week, or will the net they are installing to protect it from future incidents mean it's down during our visit? thanks!

I hope the nets don't ruin the "look" of the attraction!

I really thought I wouldn't put it past them to build nets in the interest of public safety! Like Alice in Wonderland's caterpillars got safety railings!

Just got back from WDW last night. I hve NEVER seen such a storm ever. They wouldn't let our plane take off. And, our gate at the airport lost power. Even the ground crew were in the terminal...
