I got mines! Thanks to this site and people for letting me know about it.
So from a crowd perspective which day is the best to pick? Ordinarily i would think the Thursday but with it being the only day for so cal passes i'm not sure....
It's hard to say: if the capacity is the same at every event and if every day is a sell-out, then there will be no difference between all of them. I don't expect the capacity will change, so it will be up to whether they sell out or not. I also expect (hope) that Disney will work out some of their issues so Saturday night may flow better than Thursday night, if everything else is equal.
Personally, I went with Friday since we have a mix of Deluxe and Premium passes. Hopefully the worst errors will be corrected from Thursday night. I probably would have skipped it entirely if Thursday was our only option, because we have to work Friday and I'm not as young as I used to be when it comes to staying up too late.
We registered for the Friday show with no issues -- it was quick and easy at the ticket booth, and the CM gave us a printout the size of a parking pass that has the date, time, and our party size on it. I'm excited to see how this turns out! Like AVP though, I'm usually irritated by blinking lights/balloons interfering with WOC, so this may end up not being my cup of tea... hopefully I'm wrong and it will immerse me enough to get over that!
I'm conflicted on this event - although we did sign up and plan on going.
I expect everyone will have their own "AP success strategies" for seeing the show so it will be a lot harder to be "smarter" than 99% of the viewing public. Also, the strategy of where to sit/stand will change. If I want to see the glowing hats, I should be back further than normal. If I want to avoid the distraction, I should be at the water's edge.
Normally, I prefer to be at the front of whatever section I am sitting in and will arrive early to make sure I can do that since I'm on the short side and typically travel with little kids. For this event, I expect more people will share the same views. The only good thing I can think of is that at this late hour, hopefully the amount of children on shoulders will be limited.
I notice on our event registration voucher it says that we can get wristbands starting at 9 p.m. -- does that mean people will be able to go into the WOC area that early to stake out a spot?
I also can't find anywhere that says the time everyone needs to be checked in by -- anyone know if there's a cutoff time for showing up to the event?
Going Friday.
Since we're busy Saturday, we got RSVP'd for the Friday night of this event
Since we were up at DCA for our D23 Cars Land Preview with dinner at the Carthay Circle Restaurantevent last night, we decided to go ahead and RSVP for this event. We were planning to go on the Saturday of it, but we already have tickets to go to the D23 Treasures of the Disney Archives at the Ronald Reagan Library that day, so we chose the Friday, since that way, my hubby doesn't have to work the next day.
It'll be interesting to see how this will work - does anyone know how they'll distribute the ear hats? Will they wait until everyone is "corralled", then pass them out, to keep people from just showing up for the free ears and then taking off? My hubby has the ticket with him at work right now, so I can't see if there's any info on the ticket.

My husband and I each registered Saturday morning as if we decide to bring the kids we would need more than 4 slots. We went to two different ticket windows. Mine just gave me the voucher, and told me some other details which I promptly forgot - mostly about all the people needing to have valid annual passes. My husband's gave him the paper attached to the voucher. Maybe some ticket booths ran out? If no one else has posted the information from the voucher by the time I get home, I will drag it out of the backpack and see what it says.
Hum...we didn't get a pink slip with our voucher either. Can someone post the details of what it said? I don't think we will be back to DLR until that evening.

The Disney Parks Blog just posted that the Glow with the Show merchandise will be available starting June 15th, and will work with both World of Color AND Mad T Party. Sounds like the AP "tests" aren't so much about testing...

The original post from Disney describes this as a screening, not a test. Do we know where the test language came from?
Here is the text of the pink paper:
