World Explorers IV - Magical Roll Call!
This year we are off to the Most Magical Place on Earth! MouseAdventure World Explorers IV is ready to test your knowledge of Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Park. Your exploration of the lands begins Saturday, November 3, 2012. Come join us for our first MouseAdventure at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park! Registration is now open at MouseAdventure.com.
We are also doing the Coast-to-Coast Challenge again this year.
Every team that plays in MouseAdventure World Explorers IV in Florida, and either of the 2012 Disneyland MouseAdventures will receive a special recognition of their dedication.
And, for the true competitors, there will be a special prize awarded to the team with the highest combined score for the Spring 2012 MouseAdventure Card Games event at Disneyland and MouseAdventure World Explorers IV in Florida. This prize will be awarded at the resort results meet in Florida.
To participate in this challenge, teams must have a score from the Spring 2012 MouseAdventure Card Games event at Disneyland (Basic or Advanced division) and play the Fall 2012 event in Walt Disney World. The majority of players from the team must participate in both events.

Benny's Drince88e8 are all signed up and ready to go. Me and one sister (Drince's Sister is her screen name here).
(Unfortunately, the other two sisters aren't going to be able to make it this year - so we don't have great hopes of beating our finish from last time. I don't understand why possible knee surgery and a 2 month old should keep people from flying cross-country and participating in an event like this!) (The new Mom is not the one anticipating knee surgery, thank goodness.)

That's what Baby Bjorns are for!
(The 2 month old, not the knee surgery.)
Simba's Pride is awaiting instructions on how Masters teams should sign up this time around, but we plan to be there. All 3 of us, without cubs. You have been warned.

Ha! So we should expect another round of "let's see if Simba's Pride can finish THIS in 8 hours."

Just remember, AVP and MovieBoy - they're enforcing fastpass return time! (I know, it just makes OUR job harder - but maybe you could at least tell us what quest we need to solve that we need the fastpass for, we didn't even START the Star Tours one until well after the FP window had closed)
Please.

Ready for MK MA!
I am so pumped about MA coming to MK this Fall!! I have only been aware of MA for a few months and I've been wondering why they have never visited the BEST Disney park (imho). I do have a few questions though since this will be our first time competing.
1) How is the scavenger hunt dispersed to the players? E-mail, hard copy, or other?
2) When do the teams get the scavenger hunt? Is it on the day of the hunt or some time before?
3) Does each member of the team get a copy of the hunt or do they all share one copy?
4) Do most people pack a lunch to take into the park so that they have more time to search for clues? Or is it not that competitive and everyone just takes their time with lunch?
Thanks for helping out the new guy!

Sam,
1, 2, and 3: Each team receives one hard copy of the quest packet on the day of the event. It may be a good idea to look at past game recaps in the Mouseadventure section of the main page, as well as the sticky threads here re: Team tips and what to bring with you.
4. The official answer from MouseAdventure Central is to plan to stop for lunch. This is due to the sheer size of the parks in FL vs DL in CA. However, the unofficial answer from the teams is that those who are really competitive (psychotic) pack protein bars and large amounts of water in a huge Camelbak and play until we drop or turn in (whichever comes first).
The level of competitiveness is entirely up to you. You can play for yourself to have fun and explore more of the parks in a different way, or you can play to win, or somewhere in between. Everyone has their own reasons for playing, and everyone who plays respects each others' motivtations. We all just really enjoy Disney and playing Mouseadventure.
Ask more questions and ye shall receive more answers.

Last time (Studios) we didn't stop for lunch and none of us were 'feeling' as hungry as we should have been - and we SHOULD have pulled out the protein bars. My mood was getting very short near the end (sorry sisters/teammates!). We sort of decided that next time we will stop for more substantial food next time around - so we'll see how that works. We tend to get caught up in things
Last time we DID stop and get a beer to share while we were in one spot staring and counting on a map on the wall (plus it was in the shade, so that was great) - and we did grab an adult beverage for each of us as we were going back to turn in our packets. Oh yea, we stopped near the end, too to buy 'the right' light sabers for two of my nephews! We're going to miss being able to drink a beer and solve a quest at the MK event...
I think that was the first event we ever 'completed' most of the major quests, (it was our third WDW event and we had done 3 (I think) DL events) but it was also the first time we were a 4 person team instead of a 2 person team.
Depending on the style of the game, you may get only limited information initially - and either get additional game material after you complete the 'scramble' quest, or as you complete quests -- so you may not get it all at the start of the game.
You can see our goals of an event in my avatar. We did well on all three in the Studios, but the first two are by far the most important!

For those seeking post-game adult beverages, may I suggest The Wave at the Contemporary or the Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian. Both are within easy monorail distance from the (dry) Magic Kingdom. Cheers!

Good Idea! I think The Wave has some local beers, too! But post-game is very different from during-game!! Mitzner's in the GF is good too - but pretty calm and refined, so may not be the best option if a number of teams want to get together and compare results!

Quick request- I'm very excited that the convention I'm attending in Orlando happens to line up perfectly with MA this year! However, since I'll be far from family and friends, I need a team! Could a moderator start a teams searching for players/players searching for teams thread? Thanks!
