Here's our analysis of the price increase. One major detail to point out is the elimination of the child pricing on Walt Disney World Annual Passes - adults and kids now pay the same rate. This change plus the price hike has resulted in an increase of about 20% on WDW annual passes for kids.

Well there goes any hope for DLR to have a child AP....

When I wanted to "One Disney" the Childs APs, this was NOT the direction I wanted them to go!

What about dvc discount?
I have not heard anything about the discount going up or down... so I assume it will stay the same. (Ill start looking to be sure.) Which I think is still $100 off an adult ticket. (I should know this only because I just bought mine.) I will assume that will be the case for a "childs" ticket even though there will be no difference in price.

Interesting that if you get a PH and WP&M you only have to pay $79, instead of the cost of both upgrades.

We've been discussing this offline, and it actually appears to be a new discount. It currently costs $110 to add both, tomorrow it will be $79. That's a $31 discount, which effectively wipes out the price increase for all ticket levels except the 10-day pass with the no-expiration option.
So while they've raised the Magic Your Way base ticket by as much as 10%, they've actually lowered the cost of all but the 10-day "fully loaded" ticket. THAT is interesting to me.

CheshireFigment (works in a WDW ticket booth) posted this on another site about the new WP&M option:
So you are now getting more with your WP&M option too!Magic Your Way Tickets
Where during the past year days 5 through 10 were $8 each, now days 5 though 10 are $10 each.
Past Hopping and WPF&M were all were $55 (except one-day hopping $35), so that both came to $110. Now Hopping and WPF&M have gone up to $57 (but one-day hopping remains at $35). However, there is a major price decrease to get both, as it is only $79 to add both to a ticket.
WPF&M now includes up to 30 minutes of game access per day at the PlayStation Pavilion at WWS and also one round of miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens or WinterSummerland per day prior to 4:00pm.

Well, no. All of the tickets that include the combo of BOTH Park Hopper AND Water Park Fun and More options are dropping in price, except for 5-Day through 10-Day tickets that also have No Expiration added. The increased cost of No Expiration, in combination with the higher Base Ticket cost, wipes out the savings of the "combo" on 5-Day and longer tickets.

Thanks so much for posting this! We're planning a big family trip (10 of us, so far) for December. Buying today saved us a total of about $320!
What my sister and I did is get 10 day hoppers fri/sat, and if we end up deciding to do a water park, we'll look if it's cheaper to upgrade to WP&M or get a one day water park pass. If they hold with the policies of the past where if a ticket is partly used, the value is the same as if you just purchased it (which is different than the DL policy) it may be cheaper to upgrade.
Cathy
Before WP&M was cheaper if you were going to use at least 2 entries to a water park or DQ (if only once, just buy a 1 day ticket). Now its cheaper to do the fully loaded ticket even if you are only going to a WP or DQ one time.
I also heard that WDW is no longer "bridging" ticket prices for tickets bought through Disney (I think meaning if you buy tickets on their site before a price increase, they no longer will bring it up to current value after you use it). BUT will bridge tickets bought through places like Undercover Tourist.....probably because they have no way of tracking what the customer paid for the ticket.

Ouch...looks like the WP&M is the way to go now (for a 10 day)
Working hard for that next WDW trip!
so if you are DV do they offer discounts for DL Annual Passes? Man I would so love to be a DVC member.
Have a Disney Day!
You don't have to walk on water, it's how you walk on land.
Yes, DVC members do get a discount on DLR annual passes. According to the DVC site, its a $20 discount per ticket. The DLR Deluxe AP does have blackout dates while the DLR Premium AP does not.

How complicated. At this point I'm pretty glad about UK 14 day ultimate passes!
