Also, we could sit inside at a table at C's, not outside only at G's. It was a total win-win for us!
Since it was the Brrrbank replacement, I was disappointed to see they didn't have an ice cream drink like the one Brrr had. It was like a Frappachino, only with ice cream. I think the name was a play on a California town name. Does anyone remember what it was? They don't do shakes at C's, they said they could make floats (yeah, it's pretty easy, just ice cream and add a drink to it), but I really wanted the Brrr drink, so I got a Hot Fudge Sundae instead.
I wouldn't begin to compare Ghirardelli's to Clarabelle's. Does Ghirardelli's cost more? Yep. Is it worth more? Yep. I guarantee you that the items I have ordered at Ghirardelli's could not compare to Clarabelle's. Plus - I got a free chocolate caramel to much on in line.
AND... Ghirardelli's has an AP discount. Clarabelle's, from what one person told me, is supposed to have an AP discount, but when I asked for it during a preview, they told me no, they were never going to have one.
Napa Rose costs more than many other restaurants but that doesn't mean it's not worth it.

Totally agree.
Plus, the line at Ghirardelli moved so ridiculously fast both times I went that I didn't even have time to eat my chocolate until after I had ordered. Totally worth the 5 minutes total that I spent in the store.

At the preview, MDM and I split a sundae. We still couldn't finish it! But it was good! The kids cup look to be a good size also...

That was what surprised us. I wanted ice cream and MDM said "The line is too long", so I went in, and was out in less than 5 mins with 3 ice creams!

Considering I spoke to three CM's to check--two in a group, I'd say that's quite concerning indeed!

Totally agree with this. I just skip posts that have too many acronyms. If it's important enough to say please spell it out so I don't have to spend my time figuring out what you are trying to say!
If I go down, I'm going down fat and full.

The Lost Boys (...and Girls)
oh that's what TSMM means... lol

I had a Strike It Rich Sundae I couldn't finish either. Next time I think I will get a single scoop with a topping rather than a sundae for a more reasonable serving & price. I hope they bring in peppermint ice cream for the holidays!

With this in mind, what's the CCR?

I think it means Carthay Circle Restaurant. But I have also seen CCT for that (Carthay Circle Theater), as in CCT restaurant or CCT lounge.
As for acronyms, for me it's easier if the whole name is spelled out at least once at the beginning of the post, then at least I have a reference point. This is especially helpful when people don't know the exact name of something and are making up an acronym of their own.

This is exactly what I try to do, especially if I'm answering a newbie's question and they don't know the CCR from the TTC!

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop opening?
Our family shared an Earthquake tonight. It was yummy! It was also fun to eat. My sisters family also had one. They started eating before us but we finished before them. Guess we eat more than they do. LOL!

In DCA, in the Pacific Wharf area, where the Mission Tortilla Factory used to be (same bldg.), across from the Boudin Bakery tour.

D23 is offering a discount at Ghirardelli (10% off or $1 off a sundae) until July 1st: http://d23.disney.go.com/news/2012/0...olate-company/

I thought it was strange that the expiration date was so close, but figured D23 was just being their usual odd, stingy self. Glad to hear the discount was extended, but won't bet on it until it goes up on the website.

Yeah, I thought it was weird too, and then I noticed that the link they posted with that tweet was to a post from March.

We are long time visitors to the original Ghirardelli shop at Ghirardelli Square in SF. When I saw the menu for this DCA shop, I smiled from ear to ear! "The Earthquake" is a time-honored tradition for us, from the years where we had 4 teens at home. Check it out! It is as big, delicious, and fun as it sounds! http://www.mouseplanet.com/10004/Two...Official_Debut
