Where do you think the best place to view the MK fireworks is outside of the park?

Poly Beach or California Grill (or one of the fireworks cruises)

There is another viewing spot located on the north side of the tower just outside the fourth floor at the Contemporary.

Always wondered how crowded it gets there... Its not that large of a viewing area and its not all that high up. Always wanted to try it, though.

Ive done the Poly beach before and I think it provides a real neat, wide-angle view of the fireworks. Its interesting to see how much you dont see when you are standing in front of the castle.

    Same goes for Cali Grill.

And that's still open and available with BLT being there now?

Yes, it is. BLT is to the right side of the patio, as you look towards the MK.

I've done this several times and it has never been crowded...it's much more crowded up at the California Grill. I've been out there a couple of times when it was just me and my family. Of course, after reading this everybody is going to do it! It will be just like Yogi Berra said "Nobody ever goes there anymore, it's always too crowded."

I've never done the 4th floor thing myself, but as I understand it you can get out there and then take the stairs up as far as you want, with small balconies at every floor.

I have been on the ferry from the MK towards the GF and Poly and it's a nice view. You have to be on the right side. And at the 9ish is the electrical water pageant, too. It's such a nice evening ride.

Also, we have stood on the second floor where the train station is. You have to get there a bit early to make sure you can have a good viewing point.

That reminds me - we have relatives that live just a few miles from Disneyland. It was always fun to visit them and then go outside and see the DL fireworks going off right down the street!

The Top of the World lounge on the 16th floor at BLT has a large outdoor viewing area for the fireworks show at MK. It provides a unique vantage point complete with the synchronized soundtrack. We have used it a couple of times and really enjoyed the show from there. However, access is limited to DVC members staying at BLT on points and their guests.

I stayed at the Contemporary Hotel a few years ago, in a great 9th floor room overlooking the MK. One of the things that really caught me by surprise was when the first big concussive explosion went off, every car alarm in the parking lot went off too!

Saw Wishes from the TotW Lounge a couple times last week. There were lots of advantages for seeing them from there, but I think the more you go off to an angle, you loose more of some of the visual effects.

Dont get me wrong... I really enjoyed them. And when I was back in my room 3 minutes after they were over, it was even better.

I agree. I think the best place to view the fireworks is right in the middle of the action, down there in the park with the thousands of other tired sweaty cranky folks. Just something about that shared experience that's really special!

And while I think people would rather bypass being in the middle of the crowd, facing the castle on Main Street is, in essence, like facing the stage. It really is the best viewpoint.

Agreed. Now if I could just figger out a way to watch the show from the hub without all those tired sweaty cranky people. . .

I've heard getting a reservations at Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian is really nice. If you have a window seat you can watch right from your table, or if not, you can step out onto the patio. I believe they dim the lights and pipe in the music when the Fireworks at MK start.
