Warner Home Video just announced their first wave of "Looney Toons" releases on DVD. All of these will be released on October 28th.
"Looney Toons Golden Collection": This $65, 4-disc set will contain 56 uncut, newly remastered cartoons. They haven't yet announced the specific list of which cartoons will be included. The set will also include supplemental material, including audio commentaries, music-only tracks, behind-the-scenes featurettes, etc.
"Looney Toons Premiere Collection": This is a $27, 2-disc set containing 28 cartoons plus some supplements. Again, they haven't yet released exact details on what will be contained in the set. Considering that all the numbers given for this set were half of what was given for the other, I'm guessing this will just be two of the discs from the "Golden Collection" set rather than an additional 2-discs.
"Looney Toons Reality Check" and "Looney Toons Stranger than Fiction": These will each be single-disc, $20 newly-produced direct-to-video titles. The first is a spoof of reality television shows and the second is a spoof of science fiction movies and TV shows.
Hmm, my birthday is in early October. I think I know what to ask for...
