LOL, hang in there; you'll be back before you know it.

    1999 - Coronado Springs (1 night); 2003 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2005 - All Star Music (7 nights); 2007 - POP Century (10 nights); 2008 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2009 - POP Century (10 nights); 2010 - Dolphin (2 nights); 2011 - POP Century (7 nights); June 8-18, 2012 - POFQ (10 nights); next trip,June 18-22, 2013 - POFQ (5 nights). One time, as I walked down the street near several pine trees, that pine scent hit me, and for a split second I was right back there on Soarin' .

I have been on Soarin loads and never smelt anything! I think you're all making it up!

It's because you don't eat ice-cream. We ice-cream eaters are able to tap into senses beyond mere mortals. No, truly, you've never smelled the orange or the pine? It's not always a strong scent, and I think certain "gliders" are closer to the source of the spray, but I usually smell them each visit.

It's really kind of hit and miss, as it doesn't work a lot of the time. But there really is a pine smell as you're going down the river, and an orange smell as you're going over the orange grove. Some folks say there are other smells, but I've never experienced 'em. One is the ocean as you dip down over Malibu, but I think that's just wishful imagining.

Last November, the pine smell was so strong that we thought the Cast Members must have bought a job lot of pine tree car air fresheners from the local Wal-mart and were wafting them around in front of the air-conditioning! I agree though that sometimes the smells are stronger than at other times.

I noticed the smells more in Disneyland than when we rode in WDW.

This made me smile. And reminds me of my husband! His sense of smell is pretty good, and whenever the town adds chlorine to the water he'll come out of the shower telling me it "smells like Disney".

According to the guys at our local water company, ,giving the tours to our local third graders every year, if you smell the chlorine or when people call and complain about being able to smell the chlorine, they add more.
According to someone's blog Bath and body works has new candles that smell like Soarin'. I am going to need to stop there.

Love it! Every time I have been on Soarin' I have smelled the orange grove...the pine scent has been hit or miss. I think it is great that when you get a little hint of WDW when you are not there, that it brings a smile to your face.

Well, maybe you can't smell it in Florida, but when I ride it at CA, I smell them all including the ocean as we soar over Malibu and Monterrey!

I keep reading about that ocean smell, and I've never once smelled it in either park. At the risk of calling some folks crazy, I gotta wonder if this is just really good imagination at work. Of course I'm happy to be proved wrong on this one, so I'll keep sniffing!

Ooh, this is a difficult one! I am convinced that I can smell the ocean, but it could just be my over-active imagination as the sights and sounds of the sea are so very evocative that maybe it tricks my brain into thinking it can smell it too!

Here's my take on Soarin at Epcot (I haven't ridden Soarin at DCA since 2007 and I can't really remember the olfactory experience for certain). I usually smell the pine scent every time, the orange scent is hit or miss and I've NEVER smelled the ocean.

It may very well be a trick as I think the AC kicks on right as you get to the Ocean making it seem cooler and that you are "smelling it".

Well, I've seen and smelled the various scent crystals that they use to simulate the various smells, so I know they exist. I don't always get a very strong scent on the ride though. Maybe you've happened to have ridden when the crystals were in need of being replaced?

Entirely possible. All I know for sure is that, ever since I first read about the ocean scent from forums like this one, I've attempted to smell it every time I've ridden on both coasts and have yet to get a whiff of it.

To me the smell of the ocean is not quite as distinct as the smell of pine or oranges. I always smell the pine and oranges, and I like to think I've smelled the ocean, but I'm just not sure!
