I definitely support the anti-homophobia campaign! Glad they're starting to fight back!

I hadn't previously heard about the closure of Snow White, and honestly found it hard to digest when I read it in the update. I don't remember hearing that it was going to be closed when they first announced the "new Fantasyland" plans, so I don't know if I just somehow missed it or if it was added later. I'm very saddened that this wonderful ride is being torn down, simply to make a meet-and-greet. I can't believe there wasn't somewhere else to put the meet-and-greet. Even though I'm more familiar with Disneyland's version of the ride, I actually like the Magic Kingdom's version better because it has an actual ending! I know they're building the seven dwarfs coaster that's opening in a couple years, but it's a completely different kind of ride, which I expect will have a height requirement, so many kids who can't ride the coaster won't have a Snow White themed attraction to go on. And two rides from the same film can exist in the same park just fine - Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Tea Party are happily side by side with each other at Disneyland.

I'm especially sad because I won't get to go on the ride one last time - it'll be closed before we make our next trip. I hope those who are able to go on in the next month have a great time.

Now different is nice, but it sure isn't pretty, pretty is what it's about
I never met anyone who was different who couldn't figure that out
But beautiful, I'd never live to see
But it was clear, if not to her, well, then to me.
    blah blah blah blah

cstephens, I'm pretty sure closing Snow White was in the originally announced plans -- or maybe the 'second' announcement where they toned down the Princessiness of the redo. I think at one point there were supposed to be multiple meet/greet locations??? (I tend to let that info filter out of my brain since it's not my thing - but the Snow White closure is definitely not brand new.)

Any word on Bugs Life/Tree of Life?
