If you had to pick 1 character meal for 2 girls ages 7 and 10, which would you choose? Also, if you had to pick 1 quick service restaurant at each park, which would you choose and why?

Depending on budget I would pick Chef Mickey's for dinner or breakfast.
For counter I would do: Harbor House at MK, Flaming BBQ at AK, Seasons at Epcot (just because it's children and there are lots of choices.)
I have yet to find a good counter service at The Studios. I would just eat wherever or avoid it and go to Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck's counter service at DTD.

I liked Ohana for breakfast as well as Crystal Palace. Of course, if your girls are princess fans, than Akershus or Park Fare would make sense.
QS: Epcot--Norway (HUUUGE sandwiches, something "different"); AK--Flame Tree BBQ (again, not the usual burgers. I like the beans but some do not); MK--Columbia Harbor House if you like seafood or nuggets; Tortuga Tavern for some seriously yummy fixins on nachos; Pecos Bill's for a decent hamburger. At DHS, well, it just sucks IMHO. I usually leave and go to a close by resort, but if I HAD to stay on site, I would go with the grilled turkey and arugula at Backlot Express or the Ham sandwiches at Starring Rolls....
Working hard for that next WDW trip! December 2013
I'm not a character meal person, so can't comment on that.
I agree with Harbor House and Flame Tree BBQ, but for Epcot I'd go with Tangerine Cafe, if it's not too out there for your kids. I know my nephews who are NOT picky would like it, especially the 3 year old - because it's Meat and Sides -- no fancy sauces or such that can turn off kids (and they have stuff like couscous at home regularly, so that's not an unusual texture for them).
I agree, I just 'eat to live' at the Studios - not 'live to eat' when it comes to counter service there.

I am assuming you have been before and just want to get a feeling for what other people like. I have girls of similar age to yours and they have been numerous times. At this point they rather do the Hoop Dee Doo Review then see characters. If they had to choose a character dinner I think it would still be the Castle not because of the princesses but because of the setting (a table by the window watching fireworks at the end of dinner)
As far as counter service having choices is king. Tomorrowland Terrace when open is a great counter service choice wise at MK if it is closed then Pecos Bill. At Epcot Sunshine Seasons has great choices. HS Fairfax Fare is popular with my girls. AK we just get what we are close to as the Park is so spread out (counter service is not worth a hike across AK, just eat what is nearby.
My pick of character meals for a 7 and 10 year old girl would be (in this order) - Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus, 1900 Park Fayre, 'Ohana (breakfast only), Chef Mickey's.
Favourite CS. Pecos Bills at MK, Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, Yak and Yeti AK. I can't say we have a favourite at DHS, indeed we are more likely to do coffee and a cake or a table service meal there.
If no-one out there understands, start your own revolution and cut out the middle man (Billy Bragg)
Character Meal: Cinderella's Royal Table
MK CS: Columbia Harbour House; Epcot CS: Tangerine Cafe, Morocco; DHS CS: Pizza Planet (not great, but the best DHS has to offer in my opinion). We rarely eat CS in AK, so don't have a favorite there.
I have brought them to Cinderella's Royal Table, Akerhus, Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and the Little Eintstein on the DHS. I am debating on going back to Chef Mickey's or Hoop Dee Doo since we have never been to the HDD before? We are going with the Dance the Magic program and can buy counter service tickets for $16 a day per person and we are just trying to figure out if it is worth the price. For my 7y/o it is not since she barely eats! I figure she can share with me or get her a children's meal for $6.
LOL! But agree. I usually eat a good breakfast and just eat a Soft Pretzel or two during the day until dinner. MK - I like Diamond Horseshoe, EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons, and AK - Flame Tree BBQ.
For character meals I liked Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's Or Donald's Safari Breakfast at AK.
The character meal would be Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner. It's a bundle deal with a photograph package (professional staged shots with Cinderella), wand or sword, and a three course meal. The food for us has been very good the past few years and the service is always good for the type of meal it is. The best part is that throughout the meal the princesses circulate through the dining room and you get to take your own photos with each of them. We really like the way it's set-up now as in the past things were different and Disney has improved this character meal quite a bit.
as far as CS meals...
1. Magic Kingdom - Columbia Harbor House: either the fried fish or fried shrimp meal. OR Casey's for a hot dog and fries.
2. Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree (ribs for me) and take a seat way down the path for a great view of Everest.
3. Hollywood Studios - A. Toluca Turkey leg B. ABC Commissary (be there for the opening at 11am for the red carpet treatment - seriously it was fun) C. Pizza Planet
***If you are on the dining plan all of the counter service meals are substantial as you get the drink, entree, a side, and a dessert. The counter service meals really feel like "meals".
Here's another one who can't help you on the character meals. But favorite quick meals by park are -
MK - Cosmic Ray's, with 3 different counters featuring a wide variety of food, plus AA entertainment from Sonny Eclipse.
Epoct - I don't really have a favorite quick meal here. If I do lunch in Epcot it's usually at the Rose & Crown, sitting out on the patio watching the boats go by.
TDS - Pretty poor quick service here. Lately I've been doing one of those gigantic turkey legs from the food market on Sunset Blvd.
DAK - By far my favorite quick service in the parks, the Flame Tree BBQ. Enjoy surprisingly meaty and tender ribs or a pulled pork sandwich while seated in an isolated area down by the water across from Expedition Everest. Magical!
