what hotel do you use when you visit universal studios hollywood? havent been in over 15 years and i would prefer a hotel with a shuttle , july 2012 visit, but maybe a hotel under $150 a night. the hotels seem really expensive....is it just me?

We just drive from the anaheim area. There is a hotel right there, but I don't remember the name, I think I have seen packages that include tickets with the hotel room.
That's what we've done, also - rented a car, had our mapquest maps all ready to direct us and gotten there, and back, safe and sound.

There is some kind of bus service also. Greyline maybe.
I went and looked and ouch on prices for the onsite hotels.
i think you all are right, we are now looking for a hotel farther away. i dont mind driving over there. i think it will be fine. thanks!
