Thanksgiving 2012 Pre-Planning
Cast of characters:
(This is at the time of the trip)
Me - 46
My Dad - 65
DD#1 - 21
DD#2 - 17
DS #1 - 16
Staying: Dolphin's Cove Resort
When: November 17 - 24, 2012.
So, we have been to Disneyland several times. Once during the Christmas season. Most of the time it has been in the summer. We haven't been back since the summer of 2009. Some of the "CAN'T" wait to see things: World of Color, Cars Land, the new remodel of California Adventure. And of course the favorites of Disneyland itself.
I have not made airline reservations as of yet, but I am keeping an eye out for deals. I have not purchased the tickets either, and I am trying to decide if we want to do the military 3 day passes for $99.00, then possibly go to Sea World or what other plans we want to do. I love going to Disneyland, so I am not sure three days is going to be enough for me.
I love making lists of things that people talk about for freebies or must do's. I have used some of them in the past, such as getting a certificate for steering the Mark Twain, or riding in the Lilly Belle. I am constantly making lists to try to remember to do while I am there. I do want to make more of an effort to see some of the shows, like the Hill Billies and taking in The Dapper Dans. Maybe even see the Swing Dancers. I have never stopped long enough to enjoy those shows.
So, please share with me more things I need to remember when we are there over Thanksgiving. I think we are going to try for the Storyteller's Cafe again, as that is where we had our Christmas dinner. Anyway, I have 214 days until we are there. I am so excited.
More to come as I make reservations!

I am just going to emphasise.... going to the Golden Horseshoe and seeing Billy Hill and the Hillbillies is a must do... the show is very funny and entertaining for all ages, and if you want to grab a meal while there or just some snacks it's a pretty good location (chili fries, chicken nuggets, root beer floats...)
Depending on the season it can get really crowded on the main floor, so if you go in and it looks full, make sure to check out the seats on the second floor, there are tables surrounding the balcony, and have a couple of people in your group go hold the table(s) while the rest order and get the food.

I agree with you. I have been to the show once or twice, but I always enjoy going. I would like to sit on the second floor though, just to have that experience.

Too bad that stupid railing blocks the view.

As for a freebie ask for a map as you exit Jungle Cruise. I learned that from MP and sure enough got 2 of them one for my DD and one for my neice that was with us. They are really cool we came home and framed ours.

Swing Dancing will be moved to DtD (by the ESPN Zone) starting next month. Unless Disney moves it somewhere else in the meantime, you won't have to enter DL to see it.

So, after going through my finances, I might have to cancel the trip this year to Disneyland. I have not made the decision to cancel yet, because I need to discuss things with the family. It makes me really sad though.

So sorry to hear that, but trust that you will make the best decision for you and your family. Whatever happens, here's a wish that your next DL trip will be all the more magical!

Thank you!!!
If I have to wait another year, then I will do it. It will be a lot sweeter for when we do get to go. IF I am lucky, I might be able to use my time share to be able to get two trips next year, as well as the Disney Cruise. I just have to be better at socking money away for next year. WISH me luck!

Well, I cancelled my time-share for our Thanksgiving trip. Now to just buckle down to be able to take a trip next year. I will get back to Disneyland.
