I don't want to re-start the debate on whether FP return times should be enforced or not, just curious about updates as to whether they are being enforced at DLR. Is it still just a WDW thing?

Good question - I'm going April 12-14 and would like to know...

not happening as far as I know

They updated in the last thead that it was just WDW.
Your attention, please. The Disneyland Limited now leaving for a grand circle tour of the Magic Kingdom. Aboaaard!
Was there last week and they were not enforcing FP return times. Went on Space Mtn after return time because they closed the ride during the time in which we were to return. Not only that, my friend accidentally threw away hers and her bf's FPs on their pizza port tray -_- The CM at the ride entry gave us replacement FPs when the ride re-opened which was a walk-on anyway. Anyway, long story short no hehe
We were at TOT one day and a huge party was infront of the FP entrance. It was the weekend of some gymnastics thing, and the park was crawling with middle school to college aged girls. The CM made one girl perform for her as she had apparently lost her FP.
Good to know...I usually try to keep within the time given so I'm not clogging up other people's times, but sometimes it's nice when you have a small party going and you can squeeze in the line at a later time

When we were there at the beginning of the month, I had asked several CM's what they knew. The general consensus was that WDW is currently the only Resort that is enforcing FP's.
DL will NOT be implementing it.

We were there from the 10 to the 19. We were warned only once about fast pass return time. We returned from dinner and used a fast pass past the window. The cast member took it but said that fast pass return times were going to be enforced starting the following week. We thought it was weird because he was the only person to say anything.
We were there from the 23rd-25th and were never told/warned about reinforcing return times. Didn't have any problems using our 8:50am fast passes in the evening. Only time they got a second look was to double check that they said 8:50AM as opposed to PM.
This is the email I received when I asked about this (my visit is April 12-15):

Dear XXXXXX,
Thank you for your e-mail to the DISNEYLAND Resort.
Unfortunately, we will be enforcing the time of your return when using
the FASTPASS. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause you and
your family.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND Resort soon and trust your visit
will be pleasant in all regards.
Sincerely,
Linda Trump

Thank you for your response. However, it did not answer my question.
In the past, we have been allowed to use our fastpass tickets anytime
after the begin time. (Example, begin time is 1230pm, we could use it
even at 930pm.) Since WDW went to the "No late arrivals", I am
trying to plan my next trip and would like to know if Disneyland will
begin enforcing the time on the passes. It is fine by me, I would
just like to know for planning.
Planning 3 trips at once...
I wonder if the CM who responded could have provided an answer other than the one she did, given that it is official communication and FP enforcement is the official policy regardless of whether they actually do so in deed. I would see Disney have a hard time saying that what is on the FP (return times) is not legitimate. Maybe Im off base on this but that is what struck me when I read the response.
Heading to DLR for Halloween 28 Sept - 3 Oct 13!
I was wondering the same thing.
Not enforcing it is a bit of a gift to us insiders at the expense of those not in the know. It helps my enjoyment of the park immensely, but only because most people don't know about it. So, to be fair to all they really should enforce it, but to me personally I like that they don't.
I just emailed - we'll see if I get the same response....

My first email said we were coming April 12th-15, and had heard about FP enforcement and was wondering if it would be happening when we were there. The first response was on how to use FPs. Then I responded that didn't answer my questions and I got that response.

Now that I reread this, it is pretty vague. We know that you were talking about the end of the return window, but it isn't clear that is what the response is talking about. If you have a pass with a return window of 10:00 to 11:00, is the response saying that they will enforce your not returning before 10:00, your not returning after 11:00, or both? I know what you asked, but the answer didn't fit the question the first time around, so who's to say it did the second time around.
Is/was it read in Anaheim? I am finding several things being routed to Florida anymore. Perhaps the CM was on the other coast?
Sounds like a standard pat answer email. Not really a personal one. I wonder if you can address an email to a specific person to get a better reply? Surely they aren't really going to say, ya we know we allow them to be used after the end time, so go ahead.
Have a Disney Day!
You don't have to walk on water, it's how you walk on land.
I just had a thought about our inquiries: is there a possibility that our asking these questions could cause TDA to start enforcing them? I'm just wondering if the DLR cast members might be trying to be more flexible but since decisions are being made in Florida, this may be taken out of their hands if it gets increased scrutiny. What do you think?
I agree with ogold72. Disney has just put a bunch of effort and money into "communicating" the official policy to its guests. And the official policy, of course, is that the FP is only good in that particular window. And they reserve the right to enforce it whenever they so choose.
It wouldn't make any business sense, IMHO, for any letter produced by Disney to communicate anything else. Because then they would just be providing a tool for some guest to use against them if they ever choose to enforce the policy at DL.
For planning purposes, you should "plan" that the FP's will be enforced, per their official policy. And if on the day that you visit the park they are not doing that, then it will be a nice "surprise". Even if it is a rather badly kept "secret".
Any new news from this week or last?
