2012 Wine & Dine half marathon
Registration is now open for the Walt Disney World Wine & Dine Half Marathon. The half marathon takes place on the night of Saturday, November 10 with a course that starts at ESPN Wide World of Sports at 10 p.m., before passing through Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios, then finishing outside Epcot. The Finish Line Party is inside Epcot, and features food from the Food & Wine kiosks as well as the ability to ride Soarin', Test Track and Mission: Space.
Registration for the half marathon is $155 until May 22, then it goes up to $170 until July 17, and $185 after that. There is no relay option this year for the half marathon. There is a 5K the morning of November 10 for those looking to do a shorter distance. The 5K will take place in Animal Kingdom.

I'm seriously considering this one, now that they've moved it later in the fall. Anyone else signing up or thinking about it?

I'm considering it. I like running through Animal Kingdom.

I may sign up for the 5K, but there's no way I'm running a half marathon Saturday night and MouseAdventure Sunday.

Though unless I missed something, we haven't actually announced that date.

We haven't even picked a date. It's wishful thinking that we could get both events into the same weekend.

I vote for MA being the weekend after the W&D - 'cause then I'll just stay at WDW and 'study' and recuperate in between!
But isn't MA usually on Saturday in Florida?

I signed up today, as per the devious plans of myself and a friend to get a Coast to Coast medal this year.
quick edit: it would be *AMAZING* to do a MA out there at the same time. just saying..

The Wine & Dine Half is 51% full. Are you registered?
I'm not.
Yet.

57%. At this rate maybe it won't sell out before the first increase on May 23.

I pulled the plug and registered. I figured I decided not to buy any DL admission media prior to the price increase, it was a good time. I do have a LOT of training work to get my pace down and endurance up, but there's time if I stick with it!
Now don't make me regret doing this, AVP! I don't think I could do a half marathon starting at 10:00 after doing MA all day!!!

62% as of today, the last day before the first price increase.
And we're in.

Yes!
This will be our Coast-to-Coast qualifier, too.

Epcot and Monorail resorts are all already sold out for that weekend according to my wonderful travel agent.
We have a reservation at Pop and will keep checking in case something better opens up. If you are registered for this race and haven't booked your room yet, don't wait.

Pretty sure you guys normally rent a car, but for those that don't - Pop isn't a good choice. The All Stars are the only values that will have bus transportation provided. (And I believe it's Caribbean Beach for moderate - but double check that before anyone books!!)
I was able to get ASMovies, but no AAA rate available at this time. I'm hoping an AP rate comes out by then, though.
Oh, and check the 'rack rates' vs the rates through the special running discounts -- unless one included tax and the other didn't, it was cheaper for me to go with rack rate!

My sister signed up too! Since she can do MA and W&D on the same plane ticket, why not!

This is me, setting a goal for Wine & Dine: 2:37:12.
That's a 12:00 pace, 8:47 faster than my PR and 18:01 better than my rather disappointing Disneyland Half finish. Aggressive? Yes, but I have a plan and I feel good about it.

I wasn't going to do W&D again since I'm doing ToT but.....I just signed up through GET Travel! So I'm in for the 5K and 1/2 marathon. I can't wait since I saw that MVMCP and Osborne Lights start that Friday night. It will be a fast and busy weekend but I'm sooo there!

I'm just waiting for the 2013 date to be announced. Wish I could make it this year.

Waivers are available to be printed.
I kept scrolling down the page, and it's interesting that they'll have awards for the top relay finishers, when there isn't even a relay this year!
Fairest, I'd expect it to be about the same weekend if they keep it at the end of the Food & Wine festival and the TOT race at the beginning. But this is the first year it's been at the end of the festival (3rd year overall) so who knows if they'll keep it the same. Though I think they gave the TOT 13K 2 years before they pulled it, so hopefully they'l give the TOT 10 miler the same chance.

2012 Wine & Dine half marathon
I'm hoping so, Cathy. I have the "unofficial" dates. If I don't hear anything else, I'll book those dates when I'm at my booking window. I wonder when they'll make an official announcement though?
