    Cinderella's Royal Table

    Hi Everyone!

Okay, I would love your advice on this. I'm going back and forth on Cinderella's Royal Table. We're going in June, and my ds8 adores the princesses. Last year we dined at Akershus, and really enjoyed it. Do you recommend CRT? The cost is high for us, but if it's worth it...

Thanks for any advice you can give.

I have only eaten in the Castle once, and that was for lunch before it became a Princess event. But I'm glad I had the opportunity to eat in the castle, because it's really cool to think about.

I really think that if your son wants to meet the Princesses and dine in the castle with them now - do it now. Most boys aren't going to want to do that for much longer (until they just want to eat with the pretty girls!), so this really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for your family!

However, I've never heard rave reviews of the food. So I wouldn't go in expecting a grand culinary experience.

Even if you're sitting on the fence about this...make the ADR now. If you change your mind (within the time frame for changing your mind, of course) you can always cancel.

To rephrase: Make sure you understand the cancellation policy before booking - but even if undecided, this is an ADR to book if you even think you want to go.

Thanks Drince and Barbarella! I need to transfer some money onto my Visa, and hopefully there will be a reservation on Monday. You both gave fabulous advice. No, we won't be going for the food

We really enjoyed breakfast there in September. Food wasn't fabulous but still good. The experience was worth the money, especially seeing DS (then 2) with the princesses and his favorite souvenir, a sword.

My girls have been begging to eat at CRT. we've done Akershus and Ariels grotto plenty of times at DL so for them it's not about seeing the princesses. its about eating in the castle. We've been telling them its WAY to expensive and have no ideas we're going in a few weeks. I say go for it while your DS wants to do it. if you dont you might miss the chance!

We have had breakfast there twice and dinner at Akershus. I actually think the food and character interaction is better at Akerhus. BUT. An it's a big but. Akershus is not inside the castle and going in there, no, knowing you are in there, is pretty special. I would do it if you are not going to think about the money the whole time you are in there. If you are, give it a miss because it's not worth the money per se.

Oh. At 8 my DS would not entertain the idea of a princess meal so I took DD on her own. At 12 he couldn't get through the door fast enough

Are you going alone with your DS? If so practice managing a camera and a video camera single handed. Eating as well is a challenge! The princess rotation is pretty fast.

you all rock! i'm sold, and won't think about the money.

we're from CA, and I don't know the next time we'll be back to WDW. DS8 is so into the princesses. Last year we visited Akershus, and it was the hi-light of our trip. Cinderella kissed DS on the cheek. I actually got the shot! (I have a very slow camera.) He was beaming the whole day. So, it would be fun to get a different perspective on a princess meal. Thanks again for all of your input.

we've eaten there the past two years. the experience has evolved in terms of entertainment and organization over the last 10 years or so, but we really enjoyed the "new" package.

everyone gets a photo with Cinderella downstairs and the rest of the princesses make their way around the dining room through the course of the meal. this give each table an opportunity to grab a photo with the princesses (4-5 i believe).

as far as the food goes; this character meal has a very limited set of options (everyone gets an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert) so the lack of options can be an issue. however, the food we had was very good. we knew going in that we were going for the atmosphere and experience and not the food (silly to view it that way i know). so we ended up being pleasantly surprised.

i'm with your son on this. a decent dinner with princesses is not to be missed. i had a blast with their visits. those princess cast members are awesome and they stay in character while interacting with you at the table. really a fun and unique meal.

Ourtrip, I completely agree. Last year, we did Akershus. I went in there with the knowledge that ds would get some princess time. That was my only expectation. I was pleasantly surprised with the food, drinks, and service. We are so looking forward to this!

We were watching money too, but I have to say that everybody should eat there once! I think we had dinner. The best beef I EVER had! And the cheese platter was amazing. You do get free pictures and eating in the castle is quite magical. Do it!

Does anyone know what the lunch time appetizer is? I can only see it described as the 'Chef's Tasting Plate'? We are booked in for lunch and have only done breakfast on previous trips.

We just returned from WDW and we had CRT on Wednesday for breakfast.
I loved the french toast! DD had the quiche and it was tasty too.
Our friends (DFF4 and family) had the lobster crepes and the steak and eggs. I was advised that the steak and eggs were just "ok" by DFF4Daddy.
I felt the whole experience was wonderful. We paid for it so far in advance that we felt like we had a free meal for the day. LOL!! JK!!
It was well into the afternoon and DFF4 and I realized we had gone almost the whole morning and afternoon without spending any money!! Haha!!

Food was OK, but eating in the castle is very, very cool! Something everyone should do at least once.

Like HB said above, we all really enjoyed our meals. DH did like my crepes better, looking back DH and I should have shared the crepes and the french toast, but it was all good. DD11 had the traditional breakfast which her 8 year old sister helped her polish off. I can honestly it was totally worth it. Plus as HB pointed out it was like we didn't spend any money all morning since we paid so far in advance. DD8 informed us the other night that she wants to go to CRT for lunch or dinner so she can compare the mac n cheese at CRT to the mac n cheese at Calif. Grill. She is quite the Disney mac n cheese connoisseur and has deemed Ca Grill's the best so far!

I thought CRT would be a "ok we've done it once, we dont need to do it again" kind of thing. But I would totally do it again.
