how do you get your Disney fix at home?

Hi all! Although we visited Disneyland in late-December (between Christmas and New Year's) due to a school trip for the Rose Bowl Parade, our last WDW trip was last summer, and the next one isn't planned until my graduation in June. My mom and I are beginning to feel some serious withdrawal, and I was wondering if anyone could redirect me to some web sites I haven't yet discovered, or other resources that keep you sane when you haven't been to the World in a while and your next trip is a ways off. My favorite sites are allears and MousePad, and I love them both, but it would be nice to add a couple of new sites to my repertoire. We also visit the local Disney store often just to look at the merchandise (and Vinylmation collections!). Thank you!!

Try miceage and its chat site micechat. Also laughingplace is a lot of fun. I've just started looking at easywdw, which seems to have a pretty good community of folks.

My 10 y/o loves to "ride" Disneyland at You tube. She has been branching out to some WDW rides (never been) to check them out lately as well. She also gets out the home movies and pictures regularly.

Disney vacation planning DVDs are a good way forward. They are free, (but now only for USA & Canada folks, no longer available to those in the UK!), and give you a good, if brief, overview of each of the parks and resort hotels. They are good fun and a great way to get your Disney 'fix'!

There are actually scads of videos available on Youtube - some of them pro and some amateur. There are videos of old Disney tv specials, like the grand opening of WDW in 1971. Some great stuff out there!

well my daughter's 67-year-old father likes the youtube route, too. Parade videos as well as rides. Also planning the next trip; that process actually starts a day or two before leaving the current WDW visit!

For me it's music. Everywhere you go in WDW there's music. So I have driven my hubby around the bend with Disney tunes. I purchased the Fantasmic cd from the Disney store, and while we were there in January, I picked up the Illuminations cd from a shop in EPCOT. I have a collection of music from the Disney films as well, and play them on an endless loop . Recently I discovered mouseworldradio.com and have been playing that a lot as well. It's always a surprise. The other day I was directed to "keep my hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times as the Walt Disney World Monorail will be arriving at our destintation of EPCOT Center shortly". The music helps me keep feeling that Disney magic and for me lessens the withdrawl. That and I am planning another trip. Will I be able to afford to go again this year? Who knows? But the planning is half the fun .

Oh, yes music. I have the Disneyland sountrack (2 cd's) in my car and even have nieces and nephews who request me to play Disneyland while riding in my car. I also have Aladdin and the Lion King Broadway in there as well.

Just because I know you don't tend to wander into the lounge, I will share an amusement from yesterday.
While driving my girls to school yesterday, there was a mosquito flying around inside my windsheild. But I found myself unable to squish it while the music from "It's tough to be a bug" was playing on my cd player.

Thesehttp://www.toursdepartingdaily.com/ are Disneyland, not Disney world, but they are stunning photos. At least one of these people used to post on the boards pretty regularly but I don't know if they have been around lately. They explained how they do the HD photography and the pictures turn out really amazing. It is a really good way to get a Disney fix at home.

I go to d-cot.com when I want to pick what I want to listen to. If I don't want to know then it is off to live365.

When I am stressed I go to d-cot so I can pick Animal Kingdom Tree of Life music. It is soothing!

We also have a large selection of Disney coffee cups, a wine glass or two, and a frozen mug set from Beach Club resorts...and a chip bowl which all make appearances once in a while.
I was bemoaning the other day of having broken my WDW wine glass, so Eric took a regular one and a sharpie & then sketched the castle from Magic Kingdom on it! So now I've got that, to! Everytime I wash it it fades a bit more, I tell him that when it's all gone he has to take me back....he says it's cheaper for him to just draw it on again

I surround myself is futzy stuff. My office has all sorts of calendars, pictures, miniatures, stuffed's etc. I have a Disney room at home too. I stream live365, have the mattercam.

The first CD slot in my car is pretty much reserved for Fantasmic.
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. (Though all my EPCOT guests keep getting stuck in the garden in UK.)
