    Disneyland-Fantasmic Viewing

We are heading to DL in April and there will be 4 adults and 2 children in our group. My Dad will be using an ECV. I know there is an area for him to watch Fantasmic but I was wondering if we will all be allowed to sit there with him, or will the rest of us have to sit elsewhere?

    Thank you!

Counting down the days until April..our first trip in almost 4 years!

I know my friend gets to sit with her son (not ECV, just handicapped), but it is just the 2 of them. I do know where we grab seats 2 hours before down by the river, he can park the ECV at the back of the section against the rope and stay on it there, with the rest of you on the ground around him. You can leave your stroller up at the back also, where anywhere else in the section you either have to go park it or collaspe it down.

There is an actual HCA area and if your dad is counted in the group of 4 adults/2children for a total of 6 in the party they will allow all of you into the area with your dad. The view from the HCA area is off to the side, not 'direct center'. If you don't mind camping out for the 2 hour window or if your children are older so they could handle the second show I'd recommend the back of the section against the rope plan.

Thx Mamma, I didn't know what the number count was for the section. I should have guessed it was the same as rides and such.

You're welcome. We've had mixed 'luck' in the HCA area for views. The last time we went it was on the Mark Twain/Columbia dock side of the river and if you get there early you can get all the way to the edge of the ropes, up against the rail and have a decent view but if you get there late and end up more towards the dock end of the section the view is pretty sideways and not too great for the island/screens, but you get a great view of the floats.

I think my friend said she and her son (aspie, I am not going to try to spell it) ended up near the Mansion and couldn't see real well because of tree branches. And, they got stuck at the back of the section on the bench cause the front was left open for wheel chairs etc. Great for them, not so good for my friends. I don't know that they have ever watched it again.

well I realize it's pricey but I've finally decided that we get to watch once a year from the reserved seating area. Missy is legally blind but has some vision and with all her other issues camping for hours just isn't an option, so I save and budget one splurge a year for F!. She does love World of color and because of the height and views we do well in the HCA area for that show so it's our "go to" night time show these days.

Yes, the HCA areas for Fantasmic! leave a little to be desired. If we don't do the reserved seating, we will do the camp out and get the back of the area for the ECV. It really is preferable, but you do have to spend a little time for it.

If you go on a night where they have 2 shows, there is much less camping out for the 2nd show than for the 1st.
You will want to plan to view the fireworks on a different night (since for fireworks the front of the castle is best).

Personally, I think that Fantasmic (the DL version) is the best Disney show ever.

The last time we went my parents sat in the HCA area which was near the Mark Twain dock. The rest of us (we had several more people on that trip) camped out front and center for 2 hours before the show. The show (my favorite thing at DL) was awesome of course, but the waiting was horrible only because of all of the rude people that tried to inch us out of our space the whole time. I even had a woman try to get her and her kid in front of us, and we were as close to the water as we could get! I am seriously considering the dessert reservations. My youngest is 2 and could sit on a lap, do they allow that and would she be free then? What are the current prices?

We start spread out and end up comfortable. I did notice the last 2 times, the CMs don't let anyone down to the front area after a certain time. In May I had taken the girls to the restroom and had to make sure I went back the same way and I had to say that we had seats already. In December, Whistler called (he had gone to get himself dinner and go to the locker) and I had to stand up and wave at the CM who wasn't going to let him in otherwise. I also laugh outright when they atart picking up unattended items. Cause if I can sit there for 2 hours, so can they.

We do the Fantasmic! seating a couple times a year. It is $60 for adults, and $50 for 3-9yos. Under 3 sits on your lap. Be aware that the seats are kind of tight if you have a child on your lap. But it is worth it.
