Hi All,
We will hopefully be going to WDW in the beginning part of June. Does anyone know if it's best to make ADR's for the Biergarten in Epcot? Or, is it a large enough place to handle walk ins?
Thanks for your input

Well, it's always good to make ADR's, however, I understand that sometimes people want to keep flexibility in their plans.
So if you are just hoping to eat at Biergarten, but don't want to be tied down to an ADR that you make even before the trip starts, there are some things that will increase your chances of getting a walk-up.
Is there a free Dining Plan promotion on while you are there? Free dining always increases ADR's at Disney restaurants, and therefore decreases the number of walk-ups.
How big is your party? As you know, you may be seated with other parties at Biergarten. If you only have a party of 2 or 3, you could easily be accommodated at a table with another party. If your party is 4 or more people, it's harder to find a table that will accommodate you.
Remember you don't have to make ADR's weeks or even days in advance. For example, when you are in Epcot, phone WDW-DINE, and tell them you're in Epcot and ask about available Biergarten ADR's for the next meal. (Saves walking over to Biergarten and asking about a walk-up as the CM at WDW-DINE has the same info as they do at Biergarten.)

thanks so much Barbarella! your post was very helpful. i hadn't considered trying an adr when we were already there.
Oh yes, you can find available ADR's by calling 407-WDW-DINE anytime and talking to a CM. However, I stress that if eating at a particular - and popular - place is important to you, make sure you make ADR's as far in advance as possible. And, even more importantly, if a free Dining promotion is occurring while you are there, there is less success in phoning at the last minute.

I don't normally go at very busy times, and I often see a decent number of people waiting about outside the restaurant, in the courtyard area. I'm a firm believe of the theory "If you want to eat somewhere in particular, make an ADR" - regardless of the time of year - ESPECIALLY if you want to eat at 'normal' meal times.

One other thing to keep in mind is that the show only runs periodically throughout the day. It runs often enough that you will likely see "some of it" whenever you arrive I think - however, if you want to see "all of it" you should find out the show schedule for that day and plan your mealtime accordingly. In other words, you might be disappointed to be seated just in time to see the last five minutes of the show, and then eat your meal primarily during the break for the performers.
I think the show is good and worth watching, and like to be seated shortly before it starts. So I would recommend doing some research about showtimes and then getting an ADR accordingly, that is IF you want to see the show part of the experience. Just something to think about ...
