I personally love Grad Nights when they fall during a multi day visit. DL is extremely light during the day, we will get there early, then when Grad night gets going we will either go over to DCA or have a nice dinner and then relax. I have no problems with short lines and ease of movement in the park so Grad Nights are great days for us!

Grad Nights are different this year. The kids are given PHs to use during the day prior to their Grad Night party.

The website still lists 20 or so dates.

In an earlier post you said you didnt think they would be around during the day because they had to show up as a school and school is still in session. So do you now think that they will be around in the day? I personally think that they still wont show up en masse to early but it remains to be seen

It'll depend on the school and the dates. The June dates may fall when the school is out so the local grads can go all day. I was just commenting that previous years experiences aren't the same circumstances as this years nights. For example our local high schools always went for most of the day arriving just after noon. Previously they did Universal Studios before heading to DL. Since DL during the day is now included they may opt to forgo paying extra for US and head straight to DL.

Gotcha. I think the reason the park is light during the day up until now was not because of an absence of seniors, its because all of the other guests who didnt want to pay for a day at Disneyland that was going to be closed to them at 7pm. So I dont think the park should look that different with this new set up. However, with the addition of Cars Land perhaps we will see more non-grad night folks that have park hoppers come to DL in the day and move over to DCA when DL closes to them.

I'm expecting our June trip to be less busy than our April trip because there are 2 grad nites; I also think people will be waiting until the end of the week so they can experience Cars Land. Of course when we're there in April all local APs are blocked, but the Mon/Tues of our June trip only the lowest AP is blocked, so we'll see.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, but a life long Disneyland fan. I've been a Grad Nite chaperone at San Gabriel High School these past two years. Just a few subjects to touch on. 2011 Grad nites had only 7 events (12am-6am),the night we went on had close to 20,000 students, parts of the park were closed off,so wait times were like summer weekends. 2010 had 14 nights ,and on our trip only 10,000 students arrived making most rides just "walk on".Hopefully with 20 dates, the hope is that Disneyland will cap these PH/Grad Day/Nite events closer to the 10,000 or less mark.

Grad Nite part (12am - 3am) starts off with a private viewing of "Fantasmic!" for the graduates,so I don't know if the 10:30 showing of "Fantasmic!" would be available.

We will be arriving at 12noon, because our graduation is the previous night.

My biggest concern is security. Dress code is out. Pat downs and complete bag checks(everything dumped into a clear plastic bag) are gone, unless Disney security checks us in the parking lot,or has a separate security area before the ticket booths.Does anybody have any info on this part? Think Leap Day/Night. How did that turn out.

Unfortunately we're going on June 14th! Yes the stupid DCA media day! So NO CarsLand for us! We do get a DCA only return ticket good for one year, but still so disappointed.

    Graduation nights

Have they announced when the graduation nights will be at Disneyland? We're coming in late May and I have a feeling we're going to lose a night. Thanks in advance!

Disneyland has a page for Grad Nites here http://www.disneyyouth.com/grad-nite...yland/catalog/. It lists 20 nights, which is more than the Mousplanet update. Someone speculated that perhaps the other dates haven't been reserved. I don't know either way.

I'm worried about this same exact thing. Touring plans currently shows the crowd level for DLR and DCA as a 3 for June 6 and 7 of this year. However DLR has grad nite both of those nights and from what I understand this year they are doing grad nite differently and instead of closing the park early for grad nite, they are giving the grads parkhopper passes and grads get to go to the park during the day. Do you think that will have a huge effect on crowds? I know grad nite days were sometimes the best time to go b/c people stayed away from the park due to the short hours so there weren't very big crowds during the day. Now that the hours are normal and with all the extra grads in the park, do you think touring plans is off in their guesstimate? Please help! I'm trying to decide if I want to go to the park those 2 days. Thanks!

As I posted before my nephew's senior class is going to Grad night. They are leaving from Stockton
Ca and I now have their itinerary. They are leaving Friday May the 11Th and get the day off from
school. They plan on arriving to school by 6am and leaving by 7am. They are estimated to arrive at
DL by 3pm. They have a park hopper ticket as well as two fast passes (not sure if for a specific
ride or not). They have a private showing of Fantasmic at 10pm. They leave the park at 3am.

    What are Grad Nights like?

We've never visited the parks on a Grad Night. Can you all tell me what they're like? This year, we're hoping to be at both parks on 5/18 and 5/19. It looks like 5/18 is a Grad Night. I know that DL closes at 11 on Friday, and that the Grad Night celebration actually begins at that time (after the general public leaves) -- but am assuming the kids are already in the parks by then. Is it much more crowded than usual? Anything special for them?

I'm chaperoning Grad Night (6/6) this year for Hannahbelle's DD's school. She could probably give you more detailed information, but Hanabelle's DH (school's grad night coordinator) has told me that they have a PH for the day of their Grad Night. They are to report to DCA and enter as a group late in the afternoon on that day. They are held in DCA for some sort of pre-party until they are allowed to go to DL for the night. It ends at 3am. Boy howdy....what did I get myself into. Kidding. I'm actually looking forward to it. My own grad night was 19 years ago.

Can anyone confirm (Maybe Freckles can ask their nephew when he gets back and report) what fairestoneofall mentioned? Would all the grad nights be going to DCA first and then to Disneyland later or is that just for the school they are going with? It would make sense to me and if I was hosting a group that is what I would do. That way the kids get a few hours in DCA and then we move over to DL later on in the evening when the kids get the park to themselves. Otherwise if the group just went to DL they might not make it over to DCA.

Knowing if that is the plan for most schools or the event would help as my party could plan to do DCA in the morning and then DL early afternoon to avoid larger crowds.

I was at the first day of Grad Nite events and from I saw and read online is they get a day pass and a wrist band for the night party.Through out the day there were a lot of groups with hyper happy teens singing and shouting but also lots of extras CMs It looked really fun I wanted to sneek in I was actually asked when I walk out if I was a Grad that I was unable to leave the park. There is a facebook https://www.facebook.com/DisneylandGradNite has more info.
Seniors with so many NEW offerings this year for the Class of 2012 at Grad Nite what are you most excited about?

    e) Class of 2012 Grad Nite Explosion! Fireworks

    Hi:
As a Grad Nite Coordinator I can tell you once the students are through the security screening they may go to either park. However, Disney is very firm about students arriving on their own, so I don't know about the meet up idea.

Also I have received the information for Grad Nite 2013. It will be a repeat of this year (Celebrate all Day, Party all Night) in both parks.
