Did they cut the registration limit down from a couple years ago? I know my sister registered for it in April or May! (I think that was 2009)
Cathy
This.
Remember, in 2009 there was not tiered system of pricing either. Last year was the first time they did the three levels of registration pricing. In 2009, they had a code you could get a discount - but the price of the event was the same for the entire registration period.
Since they've introduced the tiered pricing structure, the California events have sold out before the end of the first window.

Logged another cruddy run this morning. I had meant to do 6.5 but cut it short at 4.3. I had obstacles galore! I can laugh at it now, but I sure was frustrated this morning. When I left at 6 it was in the upper 40's and super foggy. I couldn't see past my next door neighbors house so I altered my route immediately. I was going to run a rural road on the edge of wine country, but the shoulder can be cumbersome and with low visibility I didn't want to chance hitting a pot hole. Running in the road was not an option with low visibility, I didn't want to get run over. So, I took the residential route. Before I hit mile one my hair was soaked from the fog mist and I was getting whipped in the face with a wet pony tail (minor malfunction). Then my fuel belt fell off (I haven't run with this belt since Dec.), then my pepper spray fell off my belt. By mile three my belt, pepper spray, flasher and arm band had all fallen off. Everything was slipping all over. I'm not sure if it was the moisture or my shirt. To top it all off, it all happened again! Everything fell twice. My flasher completely broke and my phone (which is also my RunKeeper/iPod) was blowing up with text messages. I was so distracted. Like I said, I can laugh about it now. I'm sure I looked like a hot mess out there on the road. But, hey, I logged a few miles and burned a few calories and kept an OK time despite having to turn around and pick up my gear several times.

DH, DD, and I all ran 4 miles on Saturday. I changed my intervals up a little and it was good. It challenged me just enough. I will continue to use this combo in gearing up for the Diva run in May. I don't think I can keep it up for the entire 13.1 miles but we will see. (I used 40 sec running and 90 sec walking)
I've changed my intervals up since the first of the year and I feel like I'm starting to get used to them, Hannahbelle. The farthest I've gone with them is 6.2 miles so this weekend will be another test. I'm going for nine miles with my new intervals.

If you guys are doing 6 miles (or even 4 miles) right now, you're in great shape for September, as long as you stay consistent. Great job!
I wound up running 8 miles on Saturday in 25 degree weather with a friend. Well, it 4 out, about a 1 hour break, and 4 back. She was a former division 1 track star, so I had a little trouble keeping up, but it was good to run on something other than a treadmill.

Do you have any spaces left? Just wanted to know if I should send people to you - several people in my bootcamp missed registration, and are looking for a team. Team in Training hasn't yet begun their fall campaigns, so while they WILL have spaces, they aren't yet taking sign ups.

Will it be difficult for my family to find a spot at the finish line to watch me cross? Does anyone have some suggestions of good spots to watch me along the way?
At the finish line? Yes. I usually watch for DH along the course somewhere around the 13 mile marker, it's much easier to find a place close to the rails, but even then, you'll want to arrive early and make sure your family is tracking you via text message so they will know approximately what time you'll pass.
