I'm not willing to commit to this until I've gotten further in my TNT program. I hope the race doesn't sell out before I'm ready.

    Yikes!

Fairest - I'm so excited for you team and your charity! It is wonderful! If I were planning on running this race, I would have definitely signed up with you!

Andrew - what is the farthest you've walked/run so far? I think Drince has reported her trainer saying if you can go 6 miles, you can do a half! I say go for it!

Thanks, Nancy. I'm excited, too! I'm so overwhelmed and totally humbled by the amount of people (and MANY MPers - THANK YOU!) that are helping us succeed. Between runners and donors, MP is VERY well represented!

This is still a long way off. I don't think it will sell out before the price goes up.

Since they've had this new pricing structure, they've sold out before the price goes up in Disneyland - first DL half last year and then the Tinker Bell half this year. Disneyland events sell out faster than WDW events do.

Rock N Roll Pasadena is coming up next weekend. I'm sure if runDisney has a booth at the Expo we'll see another spike in registration. That's what happened last weekend after the Surf City races.

I can semi-comfortably run 5K. I can uncomfortably run/walk 10K. When I can run (not run/walk) 10K at my current 5K comfort level then I'll be ready to register for the half. Bearing in mind I'm already committed to a half in May, but I'm on track with a training program that should get me there.

The Disneyland half is still showing 73% full. I'm thinking this is not a live update, but instead a periodic manual update. Otherwise it would have certainly increased from the 73% reported last week. And that tells me it's actually likely to be rather more than 73% full at this point.

Andrew - they tend to update the percentages about once a week. I'd be surprised if DL doesn't fill up before the end of the month. Donna and Princess are in the next 2 weeks so you'll see a spike after both of those races because of the C2C'ers.

MP is absolutely amazing. I know i have said it before and i'll say it again but i've made so many wonderful friends here on MP! i feel truly blessed with the friendships i've made online and IRL. and I can tell you for sure there is NO way i'd be doing a half marathon if it weren't for watching all you amazing people complete these races. I can not believe i'm looking forward to 13.1 miles. just a few months ago I said "wow, that's a long way to drive, there is no way i'm going to do that on foot" Never say never right?

Andrew -- if the event winds up getting full before you're comfortable, I believe you can always sign up with TNT for the event, and they will be able to get a spot for you well down the line. And since you're already working with the T&T folks now, seems like that could be pretty seamless.

I just need to convince my wife to let me run this! She told me last night that I am addicted to Disney! Yeah, so what's the big deal? She just doesn't understand me. HOpefully I can convince her to let me run this and get my c2c before it maxes.

I am very excited to say that I registered! I have never walked/run more than three miles continuously, so I know I've got some work to do, but I am looking forward to it!

I have a question for those who have run Disney events before: are most participants serious runners, or are there a lot who, like me, are just hoping to finish without getting picked up?

runDisney events are very popular with first-time racers and newer runners. A lot of people are also just there to have fun, not to run hard or get a personal record (PR). You won't be alone, don't worry!

Feel free to ask questions in this forum as your training continues. We've had several general training threads, or you can start a new one if there's a specific topic you are interested in. Welcome to the fun world of distance races!

And that's why you can't trust the website - it still says 87%.

Remember folks, last year they announced 93% on March 9, and the race was sold out by the next evening. I'd expect the race to sell out by this weekend - for those of you still on the fence, it's time to jump.
