Check out the Team Mouseplanet thread in the community section. I'm not sure if anyone has started a thread for the DL Half yet.

I'll be there with bells on! Well, maybe not bells, but most likely with my team shirt on! I'm working with runDisney to get my charity group for muscular dystrophy formed! Yeehaw!

They had early registration at the expo for the WDW marathon. I signed up then and got a lovely free Coast to Coast backpack. Can't wait for this one! Love the DL 1/2!

Nice! I considered registering at WDW but never did. Now I'm glad I didn't since I decided to try and put a charity team together.

Registered this morning! My mom did again to, she couldn't do this last time, as about two weeks before the run, she was diagnosed with a stress fracture in her foot.

As bad as it sounds, I was glad (after) that I had to do it on my own. Proved to myself I could.

I get that. I did my first Half with my husband and I was very happy that we did it together. I've done 2 more with him and I still enjoy it. But I did my second half entirely alone - I didn't even have a friend who walked with me. Given the choice, I'd rather not do one ALONE again, but I'm very glad that I did it because I proved to myself that I could.

I'm in. Not too happy about the $150 either, but a few things are helping me ignore it. 1) My first shot at a Coast to Coast medal and 2) I'm wanting to stay a legacy runner in this race.

Now that I've moved away from CA, I'll be quite happy returning twice a year or so. I'd love to meet some of you (and re-meet others of you) even though I don't post much here anymore.

I might come down to cheer on the runners, Tim. Is this really your first C2C after all those years as a legacy runner??

I'm meeting with runDisney tomorrow and will be entering into contract for our charity team! I'm so excited about this.

Yes. My first Disney Race was (IIRC) the 2005 WDW Marathon. The year after that, they started the DL 1/2. Living in CA at the time, I decided that I didn't really need to travel to the other coast to do a Disney Race anymore so I never went for the C2C medal. This is now the perfect opportunity for me to do so.

I think I may sit this one out too. It's filling up very fast. The money is one thing. And I just feel worn out. Tink will be my fourth half in less than a year and a half's time. I know some of you run circles round me but for this lady I think I could use a break! Admittedly, I'd probably feel more inclined if the bling was going to be different than last year's, but I don't think it will since they just redesigned it last year.

I would like to volunteer. For each race I've done I've liked the volunteer shirts much more than the tech shirt in the goodie bag!

It's already half full! I was planning to wait until I got a sense for how my training is going for the Ave before deciding on this. I hope it doesn't sell out before then.

This does NOT bode well for the future of Disney event pricing.

    Seriously.

At this time in my life I can't commit to a race 7 months in advance. I was hoping to kind of wait it out as well... but I don't think that is going to be an option this time around.

I can tell you we have such a blast! I have volunteered on Sat for the Expo every year since 2006. It is so much fun! I'll be volunteering this Sat for the Tinkerbell too.

Yeah, I'm already dreading the price increase for the Goofy for next year since it will be the 20th anniversary of the full.

I was dumbfounded when I saw that it was already 51% full earlier this week. My group contract is filled out and signed and the checkbook is in my purse for the Expo tomorrow. I'll be committing to 20 runner packages. *gulp*

It might stay there for a while. A lot of people probably signed up earlier due to the tiered pricing. Once it goes up, the rate may slow.

Frodo Potter and I are registering in a couple weeks. I just started running a month ago.

I'm nervous, but excited and determined! I've never done anything like this before, nor have I been even remotely fit enough in the past 2 decades. But, that's all changing.

I'm a little intimidated by the full course length though. Is it better to look at one mile at a time?

    1- Yes.

2- I personally have an anti-Galloway attitude because I think his training plan is too aggressive. And while I'm not the fastest cookie in the race, I know plenty of people who train with other programs that aren't as aggressive with sub 3:00 and sub 2:45 finish times. So I my next piece of opinion is: Galloway isn't the only training plan out there and if his numbers are looking intimidating, consider another. My very first training plan was way too aggressive and I switched to Bingham a few weeks into it.

3- You're going to learn tricks of the trade as you go - like "fueling" with either Gu or Shot Bloks or Sports Beans (100 calories per 4 miles or 45 minutes...)

4- By the time you actually get there, you will have walked several long-mile distances and so you'll have some more experience with the higher numbers. And remember when you're doing that, you don't have to do those long distances "at pace." The best advice I ever received in training for my first event was: Just do the miles, the time and endurance will come. Just do the training, it will come.
