    Richard Sherman at LACC

For those of you in the Los Angeles area, Richard Sherman will be the special guest on opening night at LACC's presentation of "Lost and Unsung" by Bruce Kimmel. The show is a series of songs from musical theatre that were either from shows that closed before making it to Broadway (the "Unsung Musicals" series) or songs that were cut from shows that did make it to Broadway (from the "Lost in Boston" series).

Since Mr. Sherman will be the special guest that night (the show runs November 30 through December 3 but Mr. Sherman will only be there on opening night), they're going to cheat a bit (by featuring a song cut from a movie instead of a stage show) and feature a song cut from Mary Poppins. And yes, Mr. Sherman himself will be performing the song.

    The Chimpanzoo

So...last night Mr. Sherman performed The Chimpanzoo, a song cut from Mary Poppins, to a sold out house.

We attended the Tribute to Richard Sherman last night at the El Capitan. It was really fun! They played some new compositions, as well as the classics, like a piece from "Iron Man 2" and the overture from "Pizzazz" (spelling?). There was a video of outtakes from "The Boys," put together by his son, Greg Sherman. DH got to meet Richard Sherman and said he is incredibly gracious and kind. Such a deserved tribute to a lovely and talented man!
