Nope - your rotation and table will be on the Key Card you get when you check in. On 7-night cruises you will get a ticket for the day and time of your character breakfast.
The cost of the meals are included in the price of the cruise (except if you are dining at Palo and Remy)

okay, thanks
One other thing to note on the cruise Key to the World card, when you get it, it will also indicate what rotation of that dining time you are in. For example, our card last year showed F3 - APLLAPL. The F in front of the 3 indicates it's the first seating and the 3 indicates the 3rd rotation (all go in at the same time, but the server works in the order of that rotation number). After that, the card will indicate where your dining locations are. The example above was from the Disney Magic (A= Animator's Palate, P=Parrot Cay, and L= Lumiere's). The table number will be indicated after that.
DLR - 02/01 off site
WDW - 10/06 POR, 10/07 BCR, 12/08 POR, 9/09 BWR, 12/10 YCR, 12/11 BWR, 12/12 BWR, 10/13 BWR
DCL - 9/09 Eastern (Magic), 11/10 Western (Magic), 11/11 Bahamas (Dream), 8/12 Nowhere (Magic), 12/12 Eastern (Fantasy), 5/13 Caribbean (Wonder)
If you are traveling with other folks, it's important to have your reservations linked so that you are on the same dining rotation and time.

I have only been on one Disney Cruise and it was a 3 night one, and I know how the dinners go, but most of the time we were off the ship for the lunch parts. We never had a day at sea, but on the one for May, it's a 7 night, so there will be days at sea. So how does lunch work- is it sit down? pick up?? and I read above that for a 7 night cruise you get a character breakfast? Is that everyday?
On sea days -- there is typically one dining room open for lunch -- plus Topsides/Beach Blanket Buffet AND the food areas on the pool deck, Plutos, Goofy's and Pinocchios. So you can eat any way you want -- the pool area eating times are longer. SO you can eat and watch the movie at the pool.
For the character breakfast, you are assigned a particular day - usually based on your rotation. It is in Parrot Cay on the magic/wonder - and you'll sit at the table you usually sit at for dinner. So awesome!![]()

and that's just once a per cruise or once a day for the breakfast?? and if it's just once- the rest of the days.. where can you eat breakfast?and for lunch- it's first come first serve or do you make reservations if you want a sit down?
Sorry for so many questions, we just did 3 days before and we hardly stayed ON the ship.

It's one character breakfast per cruise per stateroom. It happens on more than one day in order to accommodate all the guests onboard.
You can eat breakfast at the buffet, in the sit-down restaurants, or (my favorite) have room service bring it to your stateroom. You do not need to make reservations for the sit-down restaurant.

On a DCL do you eat with other people or have a table to yourself? We would be 4 people.
Thanks
You may or may not be dining with other guests. We are also a family of 4 and one time we did have a table to ourselves and the last time, we did dine with another family of 4.
While we did not know the seating arrangement ahead of time, dining was a great experience regardless of seating arrangement.

Hi everyone. Y'all were so helpful with my previous questions, I was hoping someone could tell me how the dinner seating works? (We're sailing on the Disney Wonder to the Mexican Riviera next month).
We are a family of four and I was wondering if we would be sharing a table with other passengers, or have a table for four? Is this something that can be requested?
Thanks again!
illnevergrowup, I merged your question with one of a similar topic that might help you as well.
As mentioned above, there is a chance that you will be dining with other guests. And while some may not like that arrangement, it really can be a neat experience. At no time did I feel like we were intruding on each other or the like and the servers really did a good job tending to each family.
I have heard that you can inquire with guest services upon arrival to find out specifics about your arrangement, but in most cases, the seating charts have already been made. And since the ships usually travel pretty near to capacity, it may be difficult to change.
Maybe others have some experiences that they can share...

We currently are booked for the late dinner seating. Our agent put us on the waiting list for the early seating. We have 2 little ones whose bedtime is around 8, so I'm really hoping to get into the early seating...what do you think our chances are of switching?
