Loving my sweet pea.
The Roger Rabbit break down ended up working very very well for my team. I wasn't there while they solved it, but they told me they were in the queue when it went down. Most of the other guests ended up clearing out, which left them the run of the queue to collect all the info they needed from there. The CM said they could stay or leave. Since they got all the clues in the queue, they were able to solve the quest without riding the ride.
It was nice since the night before, we elected to watch the first performance of World of Color and it was delayed by about 15 minutes. That ended up costing us another 30 pt. quest. We were working on gathering the letters from inside the castle but just ran out of time. I'm pretty sure we could have solved it if we had those 15 minutes back! Or had time to make it to Fantasmic for the 50 pt. quest.

They clear the queue IF they think it will take a long time to get the ride up again but if they think they'll get it running again "soon" they'll just leave the queue full.
Nevermind, I misread your comment. You're talking about evacuation procedures.

D'oh! I'm SO disappointed. I worked so hard on that. Thought it was impossible with the info we were missing. But then thought I got it. So so so so sad.

Ok... Not emergency exit... More like emergency path of Egress...
We walked along the side of the cars to the regular exit. No pied piper, just the CM telling us to walk along to the exit.

Thanks MA staff for another great fun-filled event! It was great to see so many friends again.
I just want all the advanced teams to know that we decided to give everyone an hour and 15 minute head start. So when the results come out and you see team 32 was nipping close at your heals, you'll know how you got there.
What happened was we had a smart phone battery problem. We made sure it was fresh and fully charged before we went to the park, but an app drained the battery and it was dead when the event started. By the time we borrowed a charger from Andrew, located an outlet, downloaded the audio clue, moved to a quiet location to hear the audio clue, located another outlet, deciphered the clue, and went to Hollywood, our packet hander-outers had left and we spent another 45 minutes wandering around aimlessly until we found another staff who told us to get our packet from MA central. Most embarrassing moment: looking for a handsome Peter Pan ("good looking pan").
That set-back only damaged our spirits for a short time though. We rebounded and quickly picked up speed. We also know where to find all the outlets along Paradise Pier and Main Street. We had several very lucky streaks along the way and I feel like we finished strong. So I think we may have ended up somewhere in the middle of the pack there.
Highlights from Sunday:
- 3 near misses from Main Street vehicles while searching for windows (I had a horse breathing down my neck at one point).
- After nearly getting run over by every Main Street vehicle I had a heart attack on the trail between the Castle and Matterhorn when the Monorail went overhead and also honked. I thought I was about to get flattened.
I don't know if we're one of the teams that "waited out" a broken down Roger Rabbit that was talked about above. We were trying to solve it by brute force from outside the building when we saw that it broke down and the line was empty. So we jumped in line and continued to work on other things while waiting for it to re-open. When it finally did we slowly made our way through the queue with everyone behind us and rode the ride (as required by the rules) to get some other pictures that weren't on the queue. We had about 75% of it solved before we even got in line, but were able to confirm everything and get the few missing ones.
Good times! I hope to do it again in Spring.
Take my love. Take my land.
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free.

We were grateful that we didn't actually have to ride Splash Mountain, although we could see that many teams did.
Nancy's man was Dan, someone who died and is forever interred at Boothill Cemetery at the shooting gallery.
And unfortunately we were one of those teams who rode Splash Mountain when it wasn't necessary. We searched high and low for all of the clues and still got that quest wrong, I wonder why

Not entirely fair to the people in the log with you if they had wanted to buy the pictures, but that is a great MouseAdventure photo!

Does anyone know what the correct answer was for the Critter Country quest?

We had a lot of trouble figuring out how to do the Tom Sawyer quest. We couldn't figure out how to assign each number to each tombstone! Any advice on that one??

Each tombstone had a date that had a unique number in it (like 1834, 1874, etc.) so you would assign 3 to the tombstone that had 1834 on it, 7 to the one that had 1874 on it, and so on. We over-thought that one ourselves, haha.
-
I don't have the packet with me at work but what we did was write out all of the numbers on each tombstone and then go find a quiet corner. The tombstones themselves had the year of death and sometimes a day or age. It was relatively easy to identify the tombstones from the pictures (I'm assuming you found the cemetery) They quest gave you 7 unique numbers (if I recall) from 2 to 8. One of the tombstones was 1811. But since 1 wasn't an option, the only number it could be was 8, so 8 got crossed off the list. Once the 1s and 8s were ignored, there weren't a whole lot of other options for the rest of the tombstones. There were other tombstones where they were the only tombstone that had a unique number (after ignoring the 1s and 8s) so they had to be that number and the number was crossed off the list. There may have been a few that had multiple choices but if the tombstone had (as a totally made-up example) 1834, but 1 wasn't a number, and 8 & 3 were taken then it had to be 4 by default. Does that make sense?
-
Each tombstone had different numbers on it, mostly years. We wrote down all the numbers on each tombstone next to its picture. Then, thru a process of elimination, you could deduce which tombstone went with which number. For example, only one tombstone had the number 2 on it, so that one had to be 2. As you continued that process, you could assign a number to each tombstone.

*face palm* ooooomg now I feel so silly about that quest. we TOTALLY over-thought that quest and eventually just gave up. =(

I over thought the graves at first too. I tried add up the #s on each stone and keep adding until there is a single digit, you end up with the digits on the top of the page too! Luckily when we tried to de-code that didn't make sense when we translated numbers to letters, and then we noticed the unique numbers on each stone, and solved the rest of the puzzle quickly.

We had one of the best runs this time (we came in 2nd in the basic division) for some reason all of the quests just came easily to us. It helped tremendously that my cousin Janis (who has memorized all of the MS windows for years) literally did the MS Windows quest in line for Roger Rabbit while I worked on Trivia and Aaron and Kim worked on the RR Quest. We didn't even have to go to MS to look at the windows all of my cousins hard work paid off! As for the carousel quest we didn't even bother with it, it sounded too confusing so we just guessed at a color (we guessed gold) but it didn't matter because we got all of the other quests correct except for Little Girl Lost, we didn't bother with that one either. Thanks again MA for an amazing bunch of puzzle quests. We had a great time (as always)!

Oh, I think it's a cute picture! Better than getting someone who does something really rude.

I don't really understand buying the photos if your group isn't in the front of the log so that could have been my bias showing. And yes, much better than something rude!

Our team almost did that as well! We scoured the flag plaques, and didn't look up.. Then found the flag hanging over by the Frontierland entrance by the ATM, but there was no "name" of the flag. We asked for clarification, and were told to look up a bit... Walked back toward the plaques and went "duh!" we had just needed to look up earlier and would have seen it.

Glad we weren't the only one! This was the fourth MA for Skippers in De Nile, and having won the Family Division at the Luau, we were feeling fairly good going into the game. We still had fun, but this round felt like possibly the toughest MA yet for us. Like other teams have mentioned we had difficulty organizing by land, and just couldn't get things together. We loved the Tom Sawyer Island quest, but some of the easier quests, like the New Orleans and Jockey quest flumoxed us a bit more. And although we figured out the question to Persons Unknown, we NEVER would have thought to look in Toon Town for that, out of the entire park.
We also felt the time pressure more. 3:30 seemed a bit early to call it a day.
Still, we love MouseAdventure! Much better than that OTHER scavenger hunt.

This was Uncle Thunder Mountain Kat's second scavenger hunt with MA and we found it very challenging. I'm hoping the trivia saved us, somewhat, but we didn't get many of the quest.
On a side note - we got some great pictures of the teams who remembered to mug for our camera and a really awesome series of pics when Br'er Bear tried to read the quests over our shoulder.
All in all it was a good time had by us. We will definitely be seeing you in the Spring!

Ditto, ditto, ditto! We thought 3:30 seemed a bit early, especially since we didn't end up getting our packet til 11am. Obviously it was do-able, but I feel better that we just didn't feel that way. We also got the question and stood in front of the photo supply on Main Street. We seem to never make it to Toon Town for quests, so I guess if we had, maybe we would have thought to look there. That was hard, sicne it was all over the park, there wasn't just one land to search for the answer.
I had fun either way, though we were all pretty fried. This was our 4th/5th (we have all missed one that the other went to LOL) so I'm not too worried, but I'm thinking out score might be ambarrassing LOL.

We had a great time yesterday. At the beginning we were definitely not clicking into Mouse Adventure mode. We got off to a rocky start. We were one of the teams in the Roger Rabbit line when the ride broke down, so all in all we spent around an hour on that quest. We managed to get the 6 higher point quests done, but we got the wrong answer on the Fantasyland one. I was wondering about that one. There were 2 questions referring to the big book at Alice, one said number of "teacups" and the other said "cups of tea". I didn't notice the difference of wording until I got home, but did the "cups of tea" mean 2- the ones they were drinking? I thought that might be why we got that one wrong. Otherwise, we just miscounted.
The one frustration of the day was that it was 11:05 by the time we arrived in Disneyland (bad decision to take the Monorail). Since we had been told to pick up our packets from Mouse Adventure central after 11, that's where we went. When we got there, they told us we still had to go to Fantasyland. That lost us some time in the beginning, but eventually we got in our stride and did pretty well from there.

Like fairestoneofall said I think our team of noobs did pretty well! We got all of the 40 point quests correct and just ran out of time for the other ones. Trivia was really hard! We only failed to guess the right land on one of the quests- we though the threshholds would be in Town Square.

Thank u for all ur hard work MA. Team Nightmare on Main Street had a great day, as usual. We look forward to this 2 times a year. We started with the TSI quest because in the past they have closed the island. Figured it out pretty easy, but had to convince people the ship wasn't the highest point, that the treehouse was. Kept working on the camera quest all day to no avail. The horses gave us problems, but it was fun finding the numbers. The windows we got to this time and got lucky with the club 55 window cuz all I know of club 55 is they are putting it in the Carthay Theater in DCA. But found the answer. We did the unknow person fairly easy by process of elimination with the words making sence since we could onlh figure out one picture. Just had to get larification on where the camera shop was, then ran out of time to do RRCS and it was shut down anywyas. Tried to talk the CM to let us in to look around but nope ( it was worth a shot). Think that was all we did. Didn't do the frontier land one cuz I didn't think to look in the TZ guide for al denton, and even though I love TZ I couldn't remember it either. Oh did the NOS one and enjoyed that. Pardoned myself to look for the bottle since people were eating. They offered me some food, and as appetising as it was had to decline. Good thing was we only had to wait 10 min at rain forest to be seated, before the rush came.

I guess we are spoiled with the "if the questions are in one land, the answer is in the same land" rule!
Agreed! One of the best and easiest things we do is to first identity the quests by land. Not only was this difficult to impossible, but several quests took us all over the Park. We must have walked back and forth between Toontown and Fantasyland four times. Poor time management there.

Agreed again. My DH feels compelled to explain the concept of MouseAdventure to anyone who asks (and people ask often throughout the day). With the cards, he was content to just hand them a card. This allowed him to receive less scolding from his teammates and let us continue on our way more quickly.
