can you PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to go about solving the "Man in the Bottle" quest?? my team and i actually went back to disneyland today to try and finish the quests that we didn't get to during the actual event, but we could not get the right answer to that one particular quest.![]()
Did you get all (or most) of the letters from the bricks in the Esplanade? If not, all of the clues to the bricks are found on Main Street, many in the train station. If so, a couple of hints... the '&' symbols and any numbers or special characters don't count when counting letters in the bricks. Then, once you have your list of letters from the bricks to unscramble, take a look at your TZ Guide for this episode and see if any words just sort of jump out at you.

Thank you!!
Oooooooooooooooh!!! We knew we had to get the clues from Main Street, but we also counted the & symbols on the bricks. We didn't think to look at out TZ guide either. Darn it! (Was Jenny Lynn's phone number in the train station?? We spent so much time looking for her!) Thanks for the advice!
We weren't sure about the '&' symbols either, so we counted it both ways and then asked for clarification. Jenny Lynn's phone number was the only clue we didn't find, but we were told after the game it was in one of the windows, I think the Ratatouille one? But we had enough letters to get the right word without finding that last clue.
Joe's comment about looking in the TZ Guide was something about "We will never just give you a random word to unscramble. It will always have something to do with the quest you're solving."

So ah...here's my incredibly late report now scattered into thoughts. This seems long but we only really did four quests, so it's not really haha.
-So glad to be back after missing the last one. Felt like alifetime. Marc Silverman was totally awesome. Kudos to you guys for snagging him and his voice talent for the event! It set the mood right away and heightened our excitement for this theme even more. It did seem to go a little overlong though...I'm thinking that we can save the Q&A part for individuals who have some like it did near the end because I could sense the frustration of the people around me who knew the answers to those questions already and just wanted to play (and yes that included me lol). I gotta say, though, I miss the PowerPoint
-Like others have noted, it seemed a lot harder to decide which land each quest was in (like the Threshold quest). My teammate and I sat down after getting our quests and carefully sorted them out which ended up taking about 20 minutes! Yeah it wasn't looking too good already, haha.
-We decided to start at Critter Country (our scatter point was Pirates) because it's always a pain to go there since it's so far away from the rest of the action and work our way eastward. While doing so, I tried working on the Most Unusual Camera quest which was a lot harder than it seemed. Quickly we realized that we didn't have to go on the attractions so we tried to do it from memory but there were a few that messed with us a little (the train and Mickey's house).
OK the Martian quest, for whatever reason, was a real head spinner. We were able to mark off some, but statements like Kanga's where she saw "three people that she knows" carved in wood threw us off. From two statements (the can-can goose's color and the roof of Mr. Bluebird's house) I thought we had to ride it so we waited in line, but immediately as we were in the queue I said to my partner, "You know what, I bet you we don't even have to ride this." We didn't, haha. I realized that as soon as I saw that there was no Mr. Bluebird's house in the attraction and saw it right as we exited next to Pooh Corner. D'oh! The rest of it was fine, but I mis-read the "wildlife views and scenic portraits" sign and said it was true.
-We went to Tom Sawyer's Island next and it took us awhile to figure out how to assign the numbers to the graves because we were overthinking it (as in, we were counting the letters in the last word of every gravestone) but once we did it was smooth sailing. Almost. We thought the highest point would be Spyglass Point (?) so we went up the ship about five times, looking over and under for anything. We almost gave up when we passed by the rope bridge and I remembered that the tree house existed. What a relief! Met Tracy for some morale boosting, got the answer, and flew back to the mainland. ('Flew' as in 'walked fast'.)
-At this point, time was running out. I figured out the threshold quest was a NOS thing (after thinking it might've been Main Street) and we completed that relatively fast. We never did find that "u" so I thought it might've been 'Borgers' or something but we looked in every window for a container and I thought of the perfume shop. Lo and behold (and scooching carefully behind some restaurant-goers) there it was: Flower lilac toilet water.
-Started to work on the Mr. Denton on Doomsday quest. Found several of the answers quite fast but when I saw "fruit crates" I thought it might be a Frontierland-Adventureland quest but thankfully we met a MA Crew Member and were able to get some clarification. It was at this point that I was feeling a little woozy from not eating so we took a break to get the photo clue from MA Central. Once we did, we sat down to work more on the Camera quest but my head was gone and I was to the point of almost passing out. My fault for not bringing a granola bar this time so I ended up buying a $3 croissant and we were back on the road.
-Went back to work on the Denton quest and used up all our hints and clarifications because it was about 3:00. Ended up not getting it right anyway haha! Worked on all the signs while heading to Toontown. Decided to just go work on the the Persons Unknown Quest and guessed on a few of them just based on process of elimination of picture orientation (e.g. Matterhorn=Vertical) but we fell into the Photo Supply trap and came up with the wrong answer.
-We had less than ten minutes to go, hadn't even started the Fantasyland, Toontown, or Trivia. I hastily scribbled in all our answers on the answer sheet and just filled in A/B for all 50 questions on trivia out of desperation. Which is sad because when I did it later, I actually knew most of the answers. As we turned in the answer sheet, my partner realized that I didn't put our answer down for the Critter Country quest, aghhh. (We got the answer wrong anyway, so it didn't matter.) So we ended the event on a less-than-stellar note. Waaay too much for just the two of us to do. My fault for saying we were doing it competitively, haha.
-Overall, it was still a great time. Lots of inventive new quests, the TZ Guide was absolutely amazing, and the event was handled so well despite all the construction issues. Kudos! This was also the first time I've attended the post-MA event since my first MA and I LOVED the addition of the Q&A with the game-makers. So entertaining to hear groans and cheers of people who got it wrong and people who got it right.
Definitely can't wait for redemption the next MA! Thanks again to the marvelous crew for putting on such a great event!
