    Upcoming Birthday/Christmas Spectacular - December 17-29, 2011

    Who: Kyle, Pam (my wife), son1 (14), son2 (10)
    Dates: December 17-29, 2011
Travel Method: Flight from Seattle, rental car for the whole trip
    Resort: Wilderness Lodge Villas (DVC)
Experience: First family trip to WDW (though Ive been to Magic Kingdom for just a day)

Were focusing on the main parks, no water parks though this trip (figured we needed something new to come back to). Also, planning on one day for Universal so we can cross Harry Potter off the list (primary reason) and then a day at Kennedy Space Center.

Weve got our reservations for lunch and dinners. Most breakfasts will be in the room.

Any glaring errors, must-dos (or must donts for that matter) or general advice is always appreciated...

    Heres our current plan
17th. Arrive. Get Annual Passes and TIW pass. Downtown Disney dinner
18th. Magic Kingdom. Crystal Palace (L). Cosmic Rays (D). Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. Celebrate my birthday.
19th. Epcot. LeCellier (L). Rose & Crown (D). Visit storytellers
20th. Magic Kingdom. Kona Caf (B). Liberty Tavern (L). Ohana (D)
21st. Hollywood Studios. SciFi (L). 50s Caf (D). Osbourne Lights
22nd. Animal Kingdom. Flame Tree (L). Boma (D). Lion King show
23rd. Universal. Mythos (L). Islands of Adventure only
24th. Epcot. Biergarten (L). Tangiere Caf (D). Candlelight Processional
    25th. AK/HS. Kona Caf (B). Raglan Road (D)
    26th. Magic Kingdom/Epcot. Beaches & Cream (L). Cali Grill (D)
27th. Kennedy Space Center. Hoop Dee Doo (D)
28th. Magic Kingdom/Epcot. Cinderellas Royal Table (Brunch). Narcoossees (D)
    29th. Depart, sadly.
    Only a few more days!!!!!

Wow! sounds pretty good to me. Only thing I'd add, and I'm sure you have already thougth of it, is to be prepared for the larger crowds over the Christmas holidays. In my humble opinion you've picked some great places to eat...Flame Tree in AK is great! Enjoy your trip, the Osbourne Lights at the Studios is really something else.

    p.s. Welcome to MP

Sounds great. We visited those same dates just staying 2 days longer last year. You might want to read my last trip report for some insight about visiting over this period. You are going to have a great time. Your best strategy is to get up early. Almost no one makes the 7am MK openings. You can have the park to yourself if you get up!

About my only suggestion is to hit Kona Cafe for dinner one night. I see you're planning to eat breakfast there twice; while I've never been there for breakfast, I go often for dinner: they have a great menu, wonderful desserts, and dinner bread to die for. Other than that, color me jealous; what a great, long, wonderful trip you're going to have!

    1999 - Coronado Springs (1 night); 2003 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2005 - All Star Music (7 nights); 2007 - POP Century (10 nights); 2008 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2009 - POP Century (10 nights); 2010 - Dolphin (2 nights); 2011 - POP Century (7 nights); June 8-18, 2012 - POFQ (10 nights); next trip,June 18-22, 2013 - POFQ (5 nights). If I'm not at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, I'm not really happy.

I don't know if you've read anything about WL at Christmas time but you'll be in awe when you go through the front door. We've stayed there the last 5 or 6 years at Christmas time since it's our DVC home resort. We stayed there in May for the F & G. We're not going this Christmas since our whole family is going in Oct. but we'll be there next Christmas. There is so much you're going to like about WL. Enjoy your trip.
