It is unfortunate to see Snow White go. Though, as long as Snow White remains in place at Disneyland, I won't be too upset. I am interested to see more concept for the mine train coaster - it looks as if the track will be indoor and outdoor - my hope is for a charming attraction.
The concept art for this new Fantasyland addition looks beautiful, and promising. As a recently former WDW cast member who has worked in the Magic Kingdom, as well as Concierge in the resorts I know all to well how the lack of dining can be an issue for guests (and cast members, trying to get guests into restaurants). Adding two additional dining locations will be very helpful to MK operations.
Toon Town was a crowded, quick fix for the MK. The concept art gives the impression that this area will open up and be more accessible - allowing better traffic flow. Adding an additional Dumbo is wise, and I think it is nice that Dumbo will have such a spot light - his legacy will shine even brighter. The queue area for this attraction looks pretty large - and the interactive queue seems as if it might be a show in itself.
I have not yet seen the updated queues at Haunted Mansion and Winnie the Pooh, but I like Disney's effort to entertain the guests as they wait. I think this adds additional value to the park and hope they continue to make their queues as interactive as possible.
Overall, I'm look at this reworking of Fantasyland as a positive thing and look forward to seeing it come to life.
After this major expansion, I am wondering if a restructuring of Toontown at Disneyland is next. It would be quite welcome as I agree, it is dreadful. The only thing that would be missed (by my daughter) is the Minnie Mouse meet and greet.
However, Roger Rabbit always has a long line, though I have a feeling that it is the load times that make it long, not that a lot of people are lined up.
So after the California Adventure grand reopening, perhaps Disney will take a look at Disneyland's Toontown next? Here's hoping...
I must admit that I was surprised to hear a few months ago that the MK at WDW would no longer have the attraction Snow White's Scary Adventure when the new Fantasyland opens. But am happy to find out that a coaster themed on the Dwarfs mine is being built.
