I think one of my team mates hasn't bought admission media yet. Will there be discounted tickets available for this event, like there is for the DL event?

I'm walking in the 2012 Disneyland Half Marathon in honor of two incredible Lymphoma survivors in my life: Gramma Jan and my friend Michele. If blood cancers have touched your life, please consider a donation to my walk fund to help fund better cures.

Anyone need another team member? I will be in the park that day but do not have a team. I have done two MA's at Disneyland.
Reindeer Games, December 2009 - 75th place; Decades, May 2010 - 48th place; World Explorers II, October 2010 - 24th place; Luau, April 2011 - 11th place; World Explorers III, November 2011 - 26th place; Card Games, March 2012 - 17th place; Road Trip, September 2012 - 35th place; World Explorers IV, November 2012 - 7th place
A version of the San Diego Mouse Catchers Lite is now signed up and ready to go. I think our new team name is "San Diego Mouse Catchers - AKA Nasa Dentures" . That is what you get when your dang phone tries to spell check for you.

Now that the DL event is over - any hope of getting info on discounted tickets for this event? One of my sisters is definitely interested, depending on the restrictions on the deal!

I have a question about "logistics"... Having only been to WDW once and having driven to Orlando that time, we were wondering if we stay on property (probably at one of the all-star resorts) will the transportation system get us where we need to go by the time we need to get there for MA? Should we consider renting a car? If we are going to rent a car anyway would it make any difference whether we stayed on or off property? (I mean besides to our pocketbooks) We would like to stay on-site but are trying to figure out the different pluses and minuses. We will be staying a total of 3 nights.
Thanks for any opinions and ideas.
For the other two events, we've taken a taxi. No need to rent a car, no need to worry about logistics with the buses.
I do think that at one point the Studios had EMH on the morning of the event (I haven't checked lately, sometimes things do switch around), so relying on buses might not be out of the question.
We'll probably still take a taxi, though.

Cathy -
Thanks for the taxi tip! I'm embarrassed to say I would never have thought of that. I just saw that a newsletter has arrived with hotel info so I'm off to make arrangements.
Taxis at WDW are one of those things that for a lot of people are big 'light bulb' moment when you do think about them. Especially for an event like this, they are SO worth the extra expense before a day full of competition. No need to start stressing out BEFORE you get the game materials!!!
(They're also handy for going from one resort where you had a nice dinner with adequate wine back to your resort, and you just do NOT want to deal with the buses of tired kids.)

World Explorers! You have a little over one week to go before registration closes! Come show us your star power!
Come on! You know you want to!!!
Enjoy a little Food and Wine Fest the day before/day after (or the evening of if you have the energy)....
See what curves the landscaping crew throws our way this year....
Find out if Disney really does believe the MA staff when they tell them 'Make sure you have lots of yogurt, no really, LOTS of yogurt!'
And verify with your own eyes the existence of some of the more elusive staff members, like Steph! and Mark! (and I don't know who else will be there that's not at every MA event)
Are there any 'almost Masters' teams we could see gain that lofty status this time around?
Cathy
We're currently tracking three teams with two first-place wins in competitive divisions:
- DF4 (Fall 2001, Fall 2006)
- The Googlie Bears (Spring 2007, Fall 2007)
- San Diego Mouse Catchers (Fall 2005, DL Holiday 2010)
Of these, only the San Diego Mouse Catchers are currently registered for MouseAdventure World Explorers III.

Buy my stuff on Amazon! (books, DVDs, etc) - all proceeds go to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training fundraising!
Ok, then
Join the fun
And see if the San Diego Mouse Catchers can reach that coveted status, more than 6 years after their first win...
Find out the answer to the question - Does the big pencil maintain it's lucky mojo after a long flight....
Or will DF4 or the Googlie Bears see this as a prime opportunity for THEIR third win, and take the plunge and sign up for the event!
(yea, I'm not giving up my day job...)

Did the news letter say that we should schedule to have lunch? I don't know why I just read that now, but that seems really exciting.
- Spring MouseAdventures: Decades advanced: our goal? to finish. mission accomplished!
- december 09 reindeer games: 26th place, & drenched all the way through!
- spring 09 mouse adventure (train, trams, and monorails): advanced division, with a newbie! the dominoes and the jigsaw puzzle nearly killed us!
- fall 08 mouse adventures: third place in the 101 division!
If you did see it somewhere, my guess is that it's one of the 'general recommendations' for the WE events. Since they tend to go FULL days (AK was 9am-5pm of actual game play) that's been one of the recommendations to help maintain team sanity. It's hard to say what we'll do this time, since we have 2 brand-new players on our team, but we generally have some high protein snacks (good granola/energy bars, cheese, peanut butter) that we'll chow down on when doing one of the 'sit down and figure out' quests and that's enough FOR US to make it through. We'll bring some water with us, too - and depending on the weather may buy some more/get cokes/etc to help with hydration - plus we'll have some gator-aid type add-ins to replace electrolytes if we're really sweating.
This time around, I intend to look at the different vending carts during our 'study time' to see which might have something that would suffice for a 'heavy snack' that we could grab if the line is short when we're around. (I think there's something near the theater that has in the past had something that would fill that need.)
Cathy
Starring Rolls has some grab and go items, including sushi from the Japan pavilion at Epcot.
