Honestly, how could anyone like this dreadful attraction? I mean, to each his or her own, but, really? I'm almost embarrassed for Disney when I visit this attraction (which, for the last time until a reboot is ordered, was summer of 2009). Obviously just my opinion.

    1999 - Coronado Springs (1 night); 2003 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2005 - All Star Music (7 nights); 2007 - POP Century (10 nights); 2008 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2009 - POP Century (10 nights); 2010 - Dolphin (2 nights); 2011 - POP Century (7 nights); June 8-18, 2012 - POFQ (10 nights); next trip,June 18-22, 2013 - POFQ (5 nights). If I'm not at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, I'm not really happy.

This isn't my favorite Disney attraction, but it also isn't an "embarassment". Actually, it has a bit of a cute story, a somewhat catchy theme song, and some memorable lines ("bit", "somewhat", "some" - none of these things are great, but none are horrible either!). It also fulfills the need in Epcot for a ride that can suck up a lot of people at a time, with a very minimal wait (if any). It's perfect as a ride to keep smaller kids occupied for 10-15 minutes. It doesn't try to be anything more than it is, but it suffers because it is a Disney renovation gone wrong - it isn't as good as it used to be.

The current version could actually be made more interesting very easily by making one simple change...in the smell/scent lab, the skunk option should be just one possibility. It would be much more fun to get blasted occasionally if there were other possibilities (some pleasant, like fruit scents, and others unpleasant, like the skunk). The story of the attraction would need to be adjusted somewhat (since the "disaster" is what cuts your tour "short"), but I think it would be very easy to fix that

As you said...everyone has their own opinion. The ride I would identify as an embarassment at WDW is Stitch's Great Escape in the Magic Kingdom. It tries to be high tech and exciting, but I've yet to meet anybody who likes it. Younger kids are scared of the loud noises and bright lights, older kids are bored because nothing really happens, and most adults just think the attraction is ridiculous.

Yeah, really. Different people have different opinions. Weird, huh? I like this attraction. It's fun and cute.
Now different is nice, but it sure isn't pretty, pretty is what it's about
I never met anyone who was different who couldn't figure that out
But beautiful, I'd never live to see
But it was clear, if not to her, well, then to me.
    blah blah blah blah

I like this attraction quite a bit, however, there's absolutely no excuse for spending the money to physically shorten the track length of the ride as part of a redo. I'm sure Kodak did not specify THAT, only that it be changed, so the whole fact that it happened this way will forever be maddening.

It was 2001 and the ride was finally reopened after being closed for refurbishment. I was so happy as I loved this ride! Then I rode it. I felt as if the "Imagineers" had destroyed my youthful childish ride. And figment was only in it a VERY small amount at the end. Then you were let go in a gift shop full of Figment stuff that wasn't even in the ride.

I emailed everyone I could possibly find with a wdw.com email address about my disdain for this "new" version.

About a month later, Customer service called me to deal with all of my complaints (as I had a lot on this horrible trip) and told me the ride was being revamped again to bring back Figment.

It's not as GREAT as it once was (since I liked the original song so much... Two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow...). However, the current version is a BILLION times better than what it was before they brought figment back. Still, every time I'm in Epcot, I like to go on this ride. Now if they would only bring the Figment character back so I could get my picture taken with him!

Mar 99 - Honeymoon off site WDW, Mar 02 - Port Orleans WDW, Mar 04 - Off site WDW, Jun 05 - Off site DL, Dec 05 - Off site WDW, Mar 06 - Contemporary / Wilderness Lodge WDW, Mar 07 - Off site WDW, Mar 08 - Off site WDW, Mar 09 - All Stars Sports WDW, Mar 10 - Off site WDW, Mar 11 - Coronado Springs WDW

Figment is my favorite. I LOVED the original attraction. I kept telling friends about it and one day when I brought them to show them, he was gone!!! That new show SUCKED! I sent a huge complaint to Disney and they phoned me back. They told me that I was not the only one complaining and they apologized and said they were working on correcting it and bringing back Figment. I even tried to see if I could get my hands on one of the pieces they removed as I loved Figment. They said they couldn't and they were not going to be sold like other parts and kept for future enhancements. Sure enough, Figment is back, but it still lacks that SPARK. It would be nice to have other scents instead of the skunk everytime. Would add some spark and make the ride different each time.

    Imagination, imagination... one spark.
