6 day park hopper to deluxe AP

I have a question, I hope someone has an answer for me.

If I buy a 6 day parkhopper and use it from December 23 to December 29, can I convert them to Deluxe AP's on the 28th? I have done the conversion before, but this would allow us to go on blackout days during Christmas but still buy Deluxe AP's.

Yes, but you wouldn't be able to get in the park on the 29th, as it is blacked out.

So even though the days I use my fastpasses are black out days, I can still convert them to Deluxe annual passes? It just seems too good to be true, that allows me to essentially use my deluxe AP during the busiest week, right?

We do this each year. We get 6 day passes for one of our friends and for my ex for Christmas, then on the last day, we convert it to a Deluxe pass.

Yes, you can upgrade your hopper on the 28th, but your AP would be backdated to the first day that you used your 6 day ticket. So if you used your ticket on the 23rd, even though you upgraded on the 28th, your renewal date would be the 23rd.
