Wow! That doesn't seem like a lot for an upgrade to a verandah. How did you manage that? Go through a TA or just call DCL?
We just looked on DCL web suite, and that cat was open. Then we called are TA to move our reservation. I needed to pay about $100 more for the deposit. Our final payment will be $5040.00. Since we are a GTY, maybe we will get a bit of pixie dust for a DCL upgrade. This cruise is 192 days away, but I'm so excited to be cruising to the Islands. I always wanted to do this.

On the Wonder, a family of six has the choice of booking concierge-level suites or two staterooms, preferably connecting, especially with young children. My *guess* is that Shannon's roadblock on this sailing is price more than accommodations.

OK, but the suites aren't THAT expensive, and the 3rd-xth passengers are dirt cheap.

It may be a deal for a suite. Actually its not bad when compared to other cruise line suites, but to say suites "aren't that expensive" is like saying buying a beach house in Malibu isn't that expensive. For perspective, the suite for the Hawaii cruise is more than I pay in rent for a year.![]()

Great to see the Port Adventures are up for viewing!
Facts:
We have never been to Hawaii.
We have to go to Pearl Harbour.
Looking for your advice on whether or not to do the Disney tour or just to go and buy tickets myself. I have to look up and research the area more as I really have no idea what to do once there (tours, sites, memorials, etc.). I have been told that they offer police/military rates if I purchase at the gates so I may do that.
Has anyone been to Pearl Habour and done tours and would recommend anything? I have absolutely no idea what to expect, what to see, etc. and would appreciate any info or tips.
Oh.........134 days til I gain a pound (or more) a day...............
Always appreciate the feedback and advice.....................
Excited, we are beyond excited. This morning we paid this cruise off. We are 137 days away from cruising.
I'm ready, willing, and able to help FE's or anything you guys want to do.

Going to Pearl Harbor was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever shared with my family. We went last summer with my 90-year-old dad, who served in the Pacific on a bomber plane. The last time he'd seen the Missouri, he was flying overhead as the peace treaty was being signed, so it was an amazing experience to be on deck, looking at the site that changed that chapter of his life forever.
I can't guarantee anyone else will have such an experience. But it is a remarkable place to visit, to see the Arizona under the water, learn the history of that day, and try to envision what it must have been like to see those planes coming out of nowhere to attack the ships.
The best advice I have is: GET THERE EARLY. Lines get long as the day goes on. And you want to have adequate time to see everything.
There are other excursion options besides the ones offered by Disney; for more info, please feel free to send me email.

Hello Everyone. Hope everyone enjoyed a fantastic Christmas. Going to be a great 2012....why? CAUSE WE ARE GOING TO HAWAII ON A DISNEY CRUISE!
So i've looked up the Luau offered by Disney. It looks expensive. Does anyone know if that is the average price of one? Finally, it doesn't look like there is much "feasting" at the Disney offered port adventure? I thought Luau's as supposed to feed you dinner? I may be wrong on this as I am a Hawaii noob.
Mary, i tried that link you gave me earlier but the site is down.
Any comments or help with this is much appreciated!
118 days left....almost going to break 100.
Hi cdndisneydaddy!
The Wonder is leaving the Hawaii ports at 7:30 each evening. Usually luaus are evening events, with torch lighting and a feast as well as hula, fire dancers, etc. I don't think the cruise schedule is going to work for that.
I checked ShoreTrips; the site has been completely redone! You probably tried to access it while it was being updated. Check again!
If you need other answers, please feel free to send me email!

Wait a minute here, something fishy going on. Mary, it says on website the following times:
7 Kahului, Maui 7:30 a.m. 10:30 p.m.
8 Honolulu, Oahu 7:30 a.m. 10:30 p.m.
Could this be late enough? And do you know if this one offered by Disney is the same thing? Found it on port adventures for Kahului.
"Old Lahaina Luau" $196 adults/$129 kids (dang that's expensive)
One more thing. I had coffee from Hawaii brought back to me as a gift. It was absolutely AMAZING. Cant remember where it was from or what the name was. Anyone have any favourties they like to bring back?
Thanks!
Yep, those times are different than what I originally had (I looked at the files DCL sent me when you booked!)
10:30 would be late enough.
On the Old Lahaina Luau website, prices are $98 for adults, $65 for kids (plus tax). That's more in line with other luaus' prices.
The DCL website excursion description indicates that a bus transfer is included in the price, but um, that's a steep difference for transportation, I think. It's about an hour each way, according to DCL.
And the coffee you're probably thinking about is Kona coffee.
